That's totally what I was thinking. Especially about the part where they're analyzing Jake saying, "There were times where he looked confused why he was feeling a certain way." Maybe that's because his father and brother didn't experience those same emotions, so he was wondering why HE was feeling a certain way when the people closest to him wasn't able to process those emotions but he could. The reason no one is here to do the same is because he doesn’t deserve to have his name cleared. He is known to be a manipulative person. And he had a lot of evidence against him of doing terrible things. Like inappropriate things with animals, being creepy towards kids, oh and the very racist content he used to upload. I believe people could change but Shane hasn’t proven himself to have changed at all. And the fact that you’re defending his name proves the fact that he manipulates people into believing he’s a good person.

You can tell that by the way he treats his feelings, and the way he feels about his parents. Rewatching this series in 2023, Shane did a GREAT job humanizing Jake Paul. I’m not the biggest fan of him, but rewatching this series you can tell that even with money and fame, that doesn’t make invincible. It is kinda heartbreaking when he is trying to talk about the thing with his brother and Alyssa, like you can see the wheels turning in his head trying to just articulate his feelings about it.

Holy shit. I decided to binge this series last night since it's the only one I haven't watched. I didn't before because I had no idea who Jake Paul/Logan Paul was aside from "immature CZcamsr's that kids watch." In my head, that's all he was. I'm so glad I decided to watch this though. Everything about this was amazing; the production, the editing, the crafting of this entire documentary.
I know Shane is dealing with a lot of controversial shit right now, but I miss these videos so much and hope he's holding up okay. I wish someone with a platform would care about him and his background as much as he's cared about everyone else's and gave them a chance. Shane deserves that as well, hate me for saying that or not - I don't care.
You can say what you want about Shane, but we've all seen the change in him these last years and it truly sucks that it's being taken away from him in this cancel culture of a world. I don't agree with a lot of his past stuff, but I think most people deserve a chance to show true change; and I feel that he was already showing that just by himself and the want to be a better person.
Just as the seasons change so do people, whether it’s for better or for worse. People need to focus on their own changes and not someone on the internet. We’ll never truly know these people so we should stop acting like we do.
I personally think Jake needs a therapist, not because he's a "psycho" or "sociopath," but because he truly needs help. His own brother did that to him, Greg taught him the opposite of feeling things, and he's been backstabbed a lot to the point where he can't trust anyone. Yes, he's done bad things, but think about it. His parents are the ones who raised him like that, and Logan was also a huge influence on him, being the older brother. He's been bottling up his feelings for so long, it's not healthy to do that.

This whole series just really nailed home the fact that I wish celebrities could be more open about their mental health and not be ashamed or afraid of facing repercussions for being honest with themselves and with others, and not feel bad or hesitant about reaching out to a professional therapist and asking for help! If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that literally every single person could benefit from a little therapy, as long as they give it a shot and are open to the process! Everyone has their own problems and nobody is free from traumatic experiences in life, because trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and severity (it doesn't always have to be on the extreme side of spectrum)! I believe that good people can benefit from therapy just as much as people who are struggling!!
This whole series made me reevaluate my opinions of Jake Paul. I still think he's done a lot of horrible stuff that I don't agree with on any level, and I still find myself wishing he could be more accountable to his mistakes and shortcomings, but still..... nobody's perfect 🤷🏻♂️! I found myself just really hoping that Jake Paul can reach a point in his life where he can value himself even more and allow himself the opportunity to work through, analyze and process the traumas and hardships he's experienced throughout his life! I 100% think that he's not a sociopath , and I 100% think he deserves to let himself heal and grow as a person! I think if Jake allows himself to process all of this with a therapist.... he'd start feeling more confident and better as a person! I hope Jake can reach a point in his life where he's finally willing and able to place and hold boundaries for himself and with others (especially within his own family 🤞🏻), as well as focus on nurturing the relationships that he cherishes the most!
Again.... I want to say that I probably won't ever be a fan of Jake Paul 😕, but I do feel like Shane's docu-series has allowed me to understand Jake more as a person, to the point that I no longer believe he is a sociopath or anything like that. Has he done bad and unforgivable stuff? Sure 😂!! Has he done stuff that he wishes he hadn't and could take back or have handled differently? Definitely!! Humans are in no ways perfect, and we all make mistakes and do things we're not proud of 🤷🏻♂️..... but I think what's most important is that people own up to their own mistakes and shortcomings, and that they make a conscious effort in life to learn from their mistakes and try to do better the next time around 😁👍🏻!!!

Re watching so much of Shane’s old videos and I used to not understand Jake back when this came out. But now that I am almost 30 and have learned more on how family structures have formed us, it makes more sense why he is the way he is. I feel Shane nailed it with the fact that his growth was stunted.. his father is a HUGE influence on it. I believe Jake isn’t a sociopath though.. if anything it’s his father and Logan that are. Logan even admitted to feeling sort of envious of Jake having feelings.. such an odd thing to say if you aren’t a sociopath. But I feel Jake was just terribly influenced to do this because of his brother.. but their dad is a HUGE problem. He is the one you need to be worried about. The whole competition between Logan and Jake was FORMED by their father. He is the one who has embedded it in their brains that they need to compete. It’s a form of “Are you proud of me yet?” But in their dads head, he truly doesn’t care about their well being or growth, as long as it brings in money. THATS where Jake gets it in his head about wanting to do more crazy shit to gain more and more popularity. Also dropping out of school to do this should be on Logan to blame.. Jake even said he wanted to do different things to begin with until Logan convinced him not to. Being overshadowed will do this to a person especially if it’s your older sibling.. Jake won’t see his wrong doings with this because as long as it’s bringing in money and fame, and clouding his brother, that’s all that matters to him.. because that’s ALL THAT MATTERS TO HIS DAD! Their dad is the biggest problem. Point blank. Another thing I want to mention is the reckless driving and feeling like he could hurt himself and he wouldn’t care.. I truly think that comes from the lack of support and love that his father shows.. rather than him being a sociopath. I think this attention he got from being a CZcamsr was his way of gaining what he has been searching for through his loved ones because he lost the trust with his family without him truly knowing he lost that..
Also to add:
I think this was also the first and true time someone wanted to actually understand his feelings behind it all and that’s why it was very hard for him to get the words out.. I feel he truly doesn’t understand his wrongs and is very clueless on the impact on the situation but that doesn’t make him a terrible human.. I think it just makes him someone who was poorly influenced by an evil father figure.
So much respect for you doing this, Shane. I wan't even involved into Jake Paul and this dark CZcams world until I watched your series -- and at first I really had the same impressions as all the other haters but then you turned tables real quick for me but not in a manipulative way: You gave this platform real empathy -- which the majority of the CZcams community really lacks off. So, I personally am really emotionally touched by Jake's story and I completely understood and learned so much about the human's psychology and why certain people got to that point of irrational acting due to their feelings. I am not a fan or a hater of Jake Paul but I appreciate real Authenticity and people talking about their issues. Because that's what everyone needs and that's what we all should do!!

Agree and disagree. You can break that circle but it will take therapy and time and I think hes figuring that one out. We don't know a whole lot about his childhood, just the snippets and its easy to say, what terrible parents, because we weren't there. But I will say, I don't pity him because he made a lot of bad choices and we as adults know, we pay for those choices. However, I will say, everyone is a human being and I do feel he deserved the right to have someone show something more then was seen in just youtube and twitter to snapchat. Just like Violet, and Banks deserved it. Everyone has a side, it was good we got to hear it from someone that had and held compassion but wasn't to soft as maybe some thought he might be :)

Shane! You are not a therapist! You did use motivational interviewing techniques to take him to the vulnerable place... but then left him there!!! You even said your brain could not handle it.... of course not you are not a psychotherapist! Trained people can do the same assessment (he is left at a certain age and continues on, etc, etc) and share empathy... BUT, professionals do not then break down and not complete the therapy! You may have additionally scared him from sharing and fully processing any of his trauma or the trauma he has caused others! I know this is an old video but PLEASE do not do this! As a trauma survivor you should relate to the complex issues!
He wasn't trying to be a therapist, he was giving Jake a platform to tell his truth and share his real life. He can try to comfort and help someone but it may not exactly work, doesn't mean he should stop trying. (With all this drama I don't exactly support Shane but I will rewatch his old videos)
