We're looking at Barnsley this season and in general from the perspective of a fan. The team, owners, everything from top to bottom and what needs to change if we are to get out of this league and back to the Championship.

As an Ipswich fan this cracked me up and only going back a few years can relate to those feelings.
Remember when we somehow sold Tyrone Mings for over 8 million and then spent a massive £10,000 of that.
However there should be comfort in looking at us and how quickly under the right ownership/management things can turn around.

ipswich fan here, reeks of the marcus evans era we had. sell players for big money, spend 10k on some national league player. only reason we stayed up so long is the scouts were on crack with getting players and mick mccarthy was massively punching above his weight, shown by the second he left we sank to mid table in league one. took a takeover where owners would actually invest money into the club and knew you were losing money in this business to change that. Hope you lads come back up soon, decent club that deserves better

Huddersfield Town fan here. We've just appointed your old manager, and I'm pretty enthused about the coming season despite being in Lg1 for the first time in 12 years. Your moans about the people running the club sound eerily familiar to us Terriers, hopefully things get sorted out at your place.
Of all the other Yorkshire clubs, Barnsley are the one where it isn't so much rivalry as camaraderie. Always rooting for you unless you're playing us.
That great last game in 2013 where Town and Barnsley passed it back and forth to send Peterborough down will live long in the memory 😂

first ever barnsley match i went to was in the 15/16 season, also went to the johnstone final and saw us win and screamed my head off in my nans living room when hammill scored against millwall in the play off finals. went to the final against sheffield wednesday last year and i felt empty... bring back 2016 barnsley

Feel your pain, we went through it under back end of Eddie's ownership and Anderson, dreading weekends to watch us inevitably get battered (shipping 7 to reading and even accy personal lowlights of that period) and attendances dropping through the floor, makes the highs that much better though, you'll get back into the champ at some point next few years

We were a similar position with our owners in terms of begging for them to give a shit about the playing shoes of things, they listened invested and got us out of this shit horrible league as champions at the perfect time. Hopefully 100 goals 100 points next season for yous lot cause I can’t be arsed dealing with the likes of Huddersfield and Brum at bottom of championship if we stay up

I’ve watched my team get relegated 3 times since 2010. And I promise you mate that even though loosing play offs is a hard pill to swallow. You probably will go back up some time soon. It’s just that your club sets such a low bar for themselves. Fuck “just getting playoffs”, make that your minimum. Aim for automatics and with the right squad you may not bottle it next season. Another thing to add to your Barnsley documentary story (bit obscure but hear me out) when Hull City Signed Angus Macdonald from you lot in 2018 Hull City didn’t pay the full 600k and refused to pay the 200k because Angus had bowel cancer. Took Hull City to court and lost forcing to pay Hull City £1 million in legal fees. Probably the best thing the allams ever did for us

It is so weird to see a football club being run like this. Get a young data driven highly motivated manager. get some fresh scouts who make decisions based on data. buy decent players. build one season. keep the core players , add a few big experienced names. you'll promote and turn a profit as well. its a pretty simple concept what brentford does but it requires owners who get their head out of their ass.
