    I have an ‘06 Grand Prix… I’ve replaced a bunch of things, (MAFS, spark plugs, throttle body/pedal, PCV & MAP, downstream catalytic converter & both o2 sensors). The issue I’m having with it sounds similar to the fuel injectors. The car started idling really rough with the RPMs dancing a bit & when you accelerate, the vehicle drives almost like it’s surging/jerking; also with poor MPG. My engine light would eventually illuminate & the code goes back to ‘P0420’ (low catalyst efficiency, but I’ve already replaced the catalytic converter). So now I’m starting to believe that the P0420 code & the erratic surging is coming from the fuel injectors maybe because it’s thickening up my catalytic converter with carbon? I’m just looking for advice, I’ve put the vehicle in for multiple diagnostics & they point @ P0420, but clear as day was it replaced - what else could it possibly be?

      @@eryonne2468 hey thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that. Could definitely be fuel injectors or bad fuel filter, damaged acceleration cable, dirty air filter, even transmission issues which I doubt but is a possibility. Without actually having access to the vehicle for troubleshooting it’s hard to say.

    Awesome video , thanks for the update. Me personally I thought it was gas in there yesterday. Is this why it don't want to turn over and also gas light will come on few hours after adding petroleum in the tank

    I appreciate the intent of this video but you really should remove those front spark plugs wires because then they'll be out of the way when installing the fuel rail w new injectors and try spraying just a small amount of wd40 in or on the bores ( injector holes on intake ) this will help when popping them in,, what was the issue with the old ones?

      Hey thanks for watching. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for next time. We replaced them because most of them were clogged.

    I have an 07 grand prix supercharged and have issues. It wants to stall out after letting of the gas. And it kinda is hesitant in 2nd gear(20 to 40mph) i have changed the map, maf, plugs wires. Any idea on what other issues it could be?

      Hey thanks for watching. It can be a few different things from the fuel system, to the air intake system, or the ignition system. Sounds like you’ve done the intake part. I’d move to trying to troubleshoot the fuel system part next.

    Does each fuel injector correspond to the same cylinder number? For example injector 1 correspond cylinder 1 and so on ?

    • @ucanfixit1
      @ucanfixit1  Před 11 měsíci

      Hey thanks for watching. To answer your question no. The cylinder order is 1,3,5 and 2,4,6 but when replacing new injectors you don’t have to worry about that since they are new. If you were just cleaning them then you would definitely put them back to the cylinder they came from.

    I got 178k on my original injectors. Is it good to change em even if there is no code error?

    • @ucanfixit1
      @ucanfixit1  Před 2 měsíci

      Hey thanks for watching. Manufacturer recommends changing them every 80,000 miles. With that being said I usually let them go a little longer especially if the car is running normal and you’re not putting garbage fuel in your vehicle that would cause any abnormal wear.

    • @JonathanHaberski
      @JonathanHaberski Před 2 měsíci

      It's basically the only thing left as I'm trying to get back up to that 30 mpg she used to get. Did tranny flush, oil change, Radiator flush, rear differential change, spark plugs, wires, catalyitic converter. Besides new injectors, is there anything left to improve fuel economy?

    • @ucanfixit1
      @ucanfixit1  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@JonathanHaberski you can also replace the fuel filter if when you change the fuel injectors you don’t feel a difference which most likely be the issue because you change the plugs already. But check if your air filter is dirty and if so replace it. Check air pressure in your tires and adjust accordingly. I know it sounds crazy but under or over inflated tires can cause bad mileage. Also check for vacuum leaks. Hope this helps.
