- This video cover 5 types of Crowntail betta fish. Betta fish have long history of genetics that created many betta fish types by trying different combinations of betta breeding. By pairing different betta fish in various combinations, the Crowntail betta fish has developed into many different betta fish types. Crowntail Betta fish are 100% man-made betta variety. The first Crowntail was created by Indonesian breeder Achmad Yusuf in 1997, and later bred with different varieties by several breeders. There are 5 primary types of Crowntail betta fish that you can normally find. The five types of crowntail are the Single ray, Double ray, Triple ray, Random ray, and Cross ray crowntail.

I have a beta fish that has quadrupled ray crown tail
In indonesia 3 rays crowntail is more rare than king crowntail, even though it is expensive, but there are breeder who specifically breed king crowntail, but i've never seen 3 rays crowntail, me personally have 1 and 2 rays crowntail

Yes, you can breed. But If you are expecting create giant with betta splendens strain & colors. Not much success there. the two will produce offspring carrying the gene (carrier). This type of babies only grows a inche larger than betta splendens, but not as big as giant betta. Also colors and patterns typically like giant betta gene. Hope it helps.

5:55 seems to me like Red Copper Halfsun.
At 7:30 is a crowntail random ray, about the color I'd say is white or "whitish" because is not full white, you can notice his dark gills under the operculum.

Bettas shouldn't be placed together, period. Some bettas are docile enough to be near other docile aquatic animals, such as snails or neon tetras, but never other bettas. Even the most experienced betta keepers try to keep female bettas together, but they almost always end up in massacres. Male bettas cannot ever be kept together. One will always kill the other.
A group of female bettas kept together is usually called a sorority, where the minimal amount of females kept together is 4, and it's not recommended to have.
About sorority: I have in my fish tank 7 female betta (3 double tail, 4 crowntail) and at the beggining they were fighting a little, but then they were fine, tolerating each other's space 🐟🐟🐟🏳.
Years ago I had 2 female crowntail that fought a lot, eventually one of them died 😓.
Tip: Put females betta in the fish tank at the same time, with plants 🌿🐟💚 and turn the light off.
If you buy a new female and you put her in the fish tank probably the alpha female will attack her, because they had their hierarchy, their social order.
It's normal to keep females together, but sometimes they are just aggressive and don't work well with others
