I commend you on the hard decision to remove a tree but when something doesn't bring you joy, it needs to go! I hope you can replace it with something that has some size already so you get your shade back!
That is what I’m hoping for, but no such luck with the trees. I would really love to have as soon as I put something in the ground I will share it with everyone.

I just dealt with scale all over my canna lilies.
Oh my goodness, they are absolutely disgusting. I can only imagine how terrible that was.
