Honestly, I respect how Alador accepted that Amity didn't want to hug him. I had a parental figure force me into a hug because it's what /she/ needed, without taking into account my feelings, and it still hurts. The smallest things matter, sometimes.
Anyone else notice that aladors thumbs.. Specifically his thumbs are abomination goo? I thought they were stains like on his clothes.. But they're the only parts of his hands consistently purple.. Wonder if he lost his actual thumbs in an accident and uses magic similar to darius.

Amity's parents remind me of my own, only if Odalia was bipolar and had the the most vile dictionary known to man. Alador reminds me of my dad, but I don't see him as a bad guy in this show. Either to my father. I see them trying their best and that is all you can ever ask for. I love them both dearly.
Genuine question because Im actually curious to see how people feel about the concept. Do people prefer amity and luz, two original characters with whole personalities that just happen to be not straight (used as the easiest and safest generalization) or characters like Jon Kent(son of Superman who was randomly made bi), who had a valid personality that was completely replaced by him not being straight??? Just because like, I as a black individual (as much as I hate to use that distinction, but it’s necessary for the sake of the conversation im attempting to have) growing up and actually understanding the purpose and intent of certain characters, has ended up liking static shock far more than miles morales as of late, just because of the simple fact that Static although being a bit of a mimic in the sense that Black Lightening obviously served as some inspiration, is not a conscious attempt to take something away from lighter skinned people and give it to darker skinned.
I guess the overall downright question is, do you prefer something already in existence being changed to fit into your subculture, or would you rather creators just come up with a new concept that fits in your subculture and can also exist in its own space?????
It’s just kinda odd and confusing because I’ve seen a vast plethora of clips and critiques on just the owl house for instance, and a huge majority focus on the idea of luz and amity being romantically interested (as the entirety of their character) rather than just, they’re both really interesting and compelling characters that just so happen to be romantically interested (a small trait that makes up the amalgamation that is their characters)

I think (making sure I did not misinterpret) what your asking is: do you like original characters being made that way or old character being recreated that way For me, personally, I like original characters being formed instead of reworked ones. It is a personal opinion, and reworks can help to make a brand correct (that being in the sense a cast of all straight white people being changed to add diversity) if done rightly do make me happy since it acknowledges a piece of media for having been unrealistic (acting as if only straight white people exist). However, when it's clearly to kiss ass, instead of trying to make genuine diversity, I really hate it. It feels like it's just being painted over and given to us like a hand-me-down, as if that's all that's deserved. I think that goes for all communities (gifted characters, so THOSE people feel like inclusive saints) but this really is a one-person kinda opinion. I could see everyone's point who agrees or disagrees. Hand-me-down media is not cool, and is false rep to me. Corrections in media to make it inclusive in a healthy, honorable way is alright though. It all depends on who you ask!
