    The ending left me wanting more and also reminded me of how a few years ago children were having their Nike shoes stolen and they were beaten up for them. Shoes were a status symbol. Just sad 😢 Plus he lost his hopes, his job, and was over powered with disappointment and anger.

    Yellow is usually associated with cowardice. Notice, not only did Levee not stand up to the White man, but he stabbed his colleague (A Black man) in the Back- literally. Stabbing someone in the back is usually derided as an act of a coward- who does not have the courage to attack his adversary head on...

    1) Chadwick is such a talented actor. 2) All of the actors are talented. 3) It's so weird to hear Chadwick use the N Word. 4) This scene was really sad and there's so many incidents that happen like this in real life.

    Some films are subjective, everybody has their own interpretation or opinion. My interpretation was this is what so-called black on black crime looks like. He wanted to slide that knife into that producer but he knew that if he did he would most likely be killed by the justice system. So he put the knife into somebody who he knew he would not get murdered for doing it. The black lives matter movement was not only talkin to white people it was also talking to us

      Per a psychological clinical term we refer to that as "DISPLACED ANGER or DISPLACED RAGE".
      Also, THE BLM MOVEMENT is not about white or black people killing us it is about Policemen who sign up and pledge to protect and serve, yet they are killing us. 🙄

    In the Bible, shoes were symbolic of power! This is why Moses had to take off his shoes in The Most High's presence in order to decrease so "He ( The Most High) may increase." The Most High said the Earth is His footstool, and This represents the counterfeit "god" putting his foot on the "Earth." And of course the yellow shoes represents the "light" ( the torch of the antichrist seat of power.) This is straight out of the Codex Playbook...The antichrist is also the False angel gabriel Not the one established Biblically.

    Another point ... its symbolic of the black community as a whole. The differences of the black woman and the black man.... the black man has the talent and know how to succeed, but not the level headedness of the black woman. And are often seen as child like and incapable of handling business. Black men end up in jail, losing out on life because of emotional decisions. Black women who end up in leadership roles, are seen as hard, emotionless, but "strong" and resilient. Black women understand the great need to be cunning, strategic, while moving in between black and white spaces.

      It's called acting and God knew his heart and understood that young brother was working and doing his job. God understands, however a lot of us don't. I recently seen a interview with his brother and he talked about how spiritual Chad was and that their family was also believers. Some ppl back in those days believe that there was no God because of the trauma and struggles that they had been through. He did an absolute amazing job and may he continue to rest in paradise. ❤

    Movies use the color yellow to represent the beast. A lion,Africa, or black people.There special little color codes.(yawn).

  • @fernandomorenopalacios4148

    Levee is just a kid who grew up orphan, and none of the musicians (very oldie i may say) deny themselves from their bubbles to treat him with respect, neither as fathers. Poor story, that was another the symbolic yellow shoes story. Hell begins as soon as the indifference between people begins, regardless of colors or if we belong to the same circle of work and life product as music is; and it becomes a tragedy. The end of the movie is heavy, such art, such acting haha

      @fernandomorenopalacios4148 Před 3 lety

      btw give piece and always chances to children, and spread love, and better studio practice space to musicians, cuz a basement with a stupid door (whom nobody helps to open it) isn't.

      It was an adaptation from a book, which also became a Broadway play before this Netflix movie. Therefore, the movie had the feel of a stage and not a lot of scenery.

    • @kgrimes4934
      @kgrimes4934 Před 3 lety +1

      @@shirlaa1594 It was first a stage play by A.Wilson and it didn’t originally open on Broadway(it got great success there though) but in the LangstonHughes Theatre. The editing and flow of this movie is tragically horrible. It guts the poetry of the play. Wilson wrote a masterpiece and it has been an easy lay up for plenty of performances. You’re supposed to be watching a blues song in three different choruses. They choose to bypass that feel and make a more conventional movie. Feel bad for the actors because they did a great job & put their hearts into it but no, it’s a bad adaptation.
