Impossible! For a plain yellow pumpkin
To become a golden carriage
Impossible! For a plain country bumpkin
And a prince to join in marriage
And four white mice will never be four white horses
Such folderol and fiddle-dee-dee of course is
Impossible!
But the world is full of zanies and fools
Who don't believe in sensible rules
And won't believe what sensible people say
And because these daft and dewy-eyed dopes
Keep building up impossible hopes
Impossible things are happening every day
Impossible!....
It's possible! For a plain yellow pumpkin
To become a golden carriage
It's possible! For a plain country bumpkin
And a prince to join in marriage
And four white mice are easily turned to horses
Such folderol and fiddle-dee-dee of course is
Quite possible! It's possible!
For the world is full of zanies and fools
Who don't believe in sensible rules
And won't believe what sensible people say
And because these daft and dewy-eyed dopes
Keep building up impossible hopes
Impossible things are happening every day
It's possible!....

Cinderella (Brandy) and her Fairy Godmother (Whitney Houston) sing "Impossible/ It's Possible," before and after Cinderella's magical transformation, in Disney's 1997 remake of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella" (previously produced for TV in 1957 (starring Julie Andrews) and 1965 (starring Lesley Ann Warren)). I have edited out the dialogue in the middle so that the complete song can be heard without interruption. - Hudba
Disney still hasn’t topped this with all of their live action adaptations.
this movie is iconic in very way Possible. Disney will never live be every able this movie and Annie with Kathy Bates. these 2 movie both iconic
I am who I am today because of this movie made it through loss of my mother foster care college and just life obstacles from believing in the impossible....love this movie

@@rockybee1452 This version is a Disney film which is a remake of Rogers and Hammerstein's television movie musical
One of the most beautiful things about this movie was the imagery of a Black woman telling another Black woman that "it's possible". You'll never understand how powerful that is for a people that went through what Black people went through (and still to this day). The Cinderella story is inspiring in of it self. But I can image Whitney herself telling a young Brandy, yes it's a real thing! Us Black women can live our dreams too. And that they did! They were forces in their careers! They really made it!
so truuue
🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This film needs more credit. I love it and have done from I was wee .Hands down The best Cinderella story iv ever seen ♥️
One of the things I liked is that a white man and a black woman had an Asian son
This comment deserves more love, I straight teared up
Whitney was PERFECT as the fairy-god mother. Whitney's classy, realness, movement with her body and hands, especially in her scenes with that beautiful golden voice made her PERFECT for this role! She made the right decision asking Brandy to play cinderella.
You are right and Brandy will be portraying Whitney Houston on her new movie.
@@victorbeaubriant4758 no...that's not Brandy portraying Whitney. I do not know the actress but it is not Brandy
@@perryIII ohh shit your right it’s not my mistake this actress looks like Brandy tho. But I did my researching…

This song is super inspiring. Seeing a black woman tell another black woman that all things are possible. So beautiful.
Skin color doesn't matter what someone tells someone. We're all human and we all bleed red. We shouldn't describe anyone as their skin color unless we're filing a police report or something. We're all the same on the inside. It's no different than 2 different skin colors one telling the opposite color things are possible.
@@maliikprior5243 Malik, when a black person gives admiration and highlights black excellence, don’t be so quick to SHOOT off your know-it-all mouth and lecture US about race. We’re STILL (even in this day and age) an oppressed race, so when we get a chance to point out the excellence of black accomplishments, WE WILL DO IT.
Let us have it, please and thank you. 🙄
@@maliikprior5243 It _shouldn't_ matter, but in this fucked up world, it sadly does. I'd love to keep those rose-colored glasses on like you have, but in order to effect long-term change, we have to face reality. And the reality is that not everyone sees all people as equal.
@@asherikamichaela8425 Yeah in reality some people are evil and idiots but for the people who have common sense they know it doesn't matter at all what your skin color is.
@@maliikprior5243 I understand where you're coming from, truly. And it really doesn't matter to me either (you could be blue with purple polka-dots for all I care- appearances are ephemeral, I'm all about personality), but we can't ignore that it still holds a level of significance in this world. And until such time that it doesn't, we have to keep that in mind while we fight for a better future.

As a half black, asian and white woman this movie was SO moving to me.

They don’t give Brandy enough credit for the vocals, This is the first time we heard Brandy sing out with no runs and it was sooooo sweet, angelic and just beautiful...

Brandy always sung without runs.

When I watched this as a kid I thought Brandy sounded weak compared to Whitney’s powerful voice but now older I appreciate her tone and how good their voices sound together on this duet.

2023 and I still listen to the songs from this soundtrack. People don't understand how important representation is. For me, a little black girl from the projects, this was my first representation of a black "princess " that I saw as a child. To this day this song fills me with pride and happiness ❤
Here we go 🙄
Where were your parents? THEY should have been your representation and filled you with pride. Not some random black people on TV who you don't even know. Sad that most black people don't seem to have parents who inspire them and they look towards random black celebrities to get a sense of pride and fulfillment because your comment is like many I've read. If you feel like you need to have random black people on TV just to feel secure with yourself then your parents failed you.
This one's representation done right.
Black Queens can play ANY role they want ❤️ This cast has so many ethnicities, loved it.
And that’s truly what matters. As long as a fictional character is played by a human, why does it matter the race. People should educate their own children on race and stop looking for Disney to do it for them.
That's why this version is my favorite💖💖
So random I wanted to hear this song.
Me too lol. I woke up at 8AM and just wanted to hear it for some reason.

The best version of this will always be Whitney and Brandy. ❤
Houston was supposed to play Cinderella, but she realized she was too mature for the role. She gave it to Brandy (Whitney was executive producer)..as the fairy godmother the part was made for Houston. This was the Whitney Houston at her peak, vocally and acting. She brought a street savviness to the role, her version of the godmother had been places and knew how to get the job done ( and with a understated sexiness).
WHITNEY AND THAT ENDING NOTE is everything

Wait that’s Whitney houston!?
This movie was so diverse without even trying to be. It wasn’t forced like it is today - just so natural and beautiful
Social media didn’t exist back then
This was my first exposure to onscreen diversity
Because it's based in how it is in a lot of actual plays. They get the best actors/actresses. It doesn't matter the race or age on stage.
Because they didn't care about "looking like the original" or whether the races made sense, whoever was best got it
Because it came from the mind and heart of Whitney with no agenda ❤
The last "possible" at the end, sent me!! Brandy vocals are sooooo strong!!! The note the tone everything PERFECT!!! They definitely didn't give her vocals enough credit for this movie!!! The best thing about this is that Whitney really was a fairy godmother to Brandy and a host of other young female singers. No jealousy or resentment at all. She loved being a source of encouragement and support to the up and coming generation of vocalists.
The people bitching and complaining about remakes with black casts, musicians or actors have obviously forgotten about this remake of Cinderella with Whitney Houston and Brandi. We had this all in the 1990's and no one bitched and complained like they do today about Disney and Netflix. Then, we welcomed the change and embraced it as something different.
Everyone's here talking about the last big note and I have always felt mesmerized by her diction and tone during the first verse. Pure classic Broadway singing right here. That juicy bite and grandeur in her voice, that punch and her intonation are all worth-celebrating elements of her artistry.
This description is everything yaaaaaassss
The placement tone and diction is EVERYTHING here. So good.
YEEEESSS
This was such a pleasant read!
They don't get it sis. They think that the measure of a good singer is the highest note they can hit. They don't even know to consider the so-called small things because they can't hear them. They don't even know that it's more difficult to sing with control than it is to belt with heavy vibrato, but the latter is bigger so that's what they listen for and appreciate the most. They have no idea that tone matters so much. Though Whitney has tone for days, they would never be able to understand the possibility that Lalah Hathaway and Anita Baker have better voices. I didn't say they were better singers, but someone is going to get upset because they don't know the difference. 🤣🤣🤣 My point is, they don't know. They think they know, but they don't. Lol
"For the world is full of zanies and fools, who don't believe in sensible rules, and won't believe what sensible people say. And because these daft and dewey-eyed dopes keep building up impossible hopes IT'S POSSIBLE! Things are happening every day!!"

Someone gave me this movie for a gift as a child and I have to say it was one of the best gifts I've ever gotten.
HAPPY 25;th To This CINDERELLA
This movie really changed the opportunities for black female r&b singers! This was the first time we were able to actually see successful and celebrated RB songstress’ able to excel in broadway/stage style productions paving the way for people like Keke Palmer and Fantasia.
No it was not. Quit acting like black R&B singers weren't doing big things well before 1997. 🙄
@@skip031890 never said they weren’t. But I understand you need a moment!
@@skip031890nothing on this scale.
@@skip031890 you hate black ppl so bad get a grip
I love this song. But I couldn't help but laugh at Brandy's expression when she turned and saw Whitney sitting next to her. Lol Brandy was like "wtf?"
Whitney gives me chills still to this day. Everything about her. Every video, every song, every interview, everything.
***** I really do miss her like I knew her. It's weird because I don't get weird like that about anyone. Any time I start missing her, I just truly believe shes the head of Heaven's choir. Haha. I don't know, it just makes me feel better thinking she's singing with angels.
I totally agree with u. Were so lucky she left us the music
Joseph Avila I just pray the young generation will never forget her. It's fine to listen to Beyonce and Nicki Minaj... I'm just as guilty, but I truly hope they remember THIS talent and help it live on even now that she's gone.
Madison Ordy I loved this song from the Broadway/ earlier movie version a version and this one too!
STILL!!!! I miss her so much... I was tearing up just watching her singing LIVE and alive again... I miss this woman
Little white girl like me, I was about 7 first time I saw this and was OBSESSED!!! I thought they were all so beautiful! I didn’t even realize anything with their skin, that’s just who they were. And man, Brandy’s sweet voice. Wish everyone has this perception of race! 😍😍😍😍😍
There is not a better fairy godmother than Whitney Huston ♥
I bet that outfit is what she now wears in heaven.
What's really impossible is how insanely incredible Ms. Houston's voice was. Just extraordinary.
Whitney is the exact representation of vocal freedom !! I swear she will always be my vocal hero 💯😭
Whitney's hand work in this scene should be credited as a paid actor 💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾✨✨✨
I love Julie Andrews, Leslie Ann Warren, and Laura Osnes but this is my most favorite version of this song
Whitney truly had the voice of an angel. It was so surreal and unbelievable like straight out of a fairy tale, hence her playing the lovable Fairy Godmother. Loved her friendship with the R&B beauty that is Brandy
Perfect role!!
That last note was Whitney bringing it home for me... impossible 🎼🎵🎶🎵
That last note was Whitney bringing it
Home forb me impossible
If I have NEVER been grateful for anything I’m BEYOND grateful that Nippy left us with this! #itspossible

DareTv
Sadly you're best bet is to torrent it and convert it to 500 mb mp4 and transfer it to your phone/tablet via iTunes.
You can buy the Dvd on EBay or Amazon like me lol idk about streaming
Primewire....I'm watching up there as we speak
I'm 14 years old and I grew up of the movie and the wiz! (VHS TAPE) I want to pass it on to the next generation aswell! We need more movies like these, not white washed Hollywood. This movie is probably the most diverse movie I have ever seen. Black Cinderella, Asian Prince, black and white King and queen, it's wonderful !
