Same way we can think, if your body is the vessel and the consciousness is you then when you sleep or go unconscious the body creates new consciousness when you wake up... Would you say that might not be you... But as long as it's a perfectly made copy and has no sign that it's not the original and the original is not present it becomes the original...
If it's a perfecy copy then it is you I guess. If everything that happens on the abstract realm like thinking, dreaming and all that can be foundamentally attributed to how your neurons are ordered and how they connect with eachother, if you copy everything 100%, your consciousness would keep on going. It would still be you, because your perspective of self also derives from your brain.
But I do wonder, what if two lasers collide? Wouldn't the information mix?

He is talking as if the consciousness can be downloaded and transferred, its not that its a data thing, then he said what we could do if conscious is set of data in brain
Ones and zeros just refers to the *interpretation* of data. For instance you could convert "hello" to 01001000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111 00100001. We do the same thing with math. The very screen you're looking at.
And he's speaking on principle or expounding on what we already know is possible.

Technically yes but your experiences will be limited. Our brain can’t process that kind of information. Eventually after doing it so many times your brain will be full. And you’ll start to forget your past so that you can start remembering more. Kind of like deleting a couple of things. But you don’t control what you delete. However we can take an idea of what would be deleted. Your childhood memories with no longer be accessible. And I rather have my childhood memories than a memory of the moon

In order for data to be uploaded to systems on planets, moons, and nearby star systems, there's a need to establish infrastructure on these celestial bodies. For instance, the nearby star system Alpha Centauri is located 4 light years away. Let's consider the most optimistic scenario, where humanity develops a rocket capable of nearly reaching the speed of light (99.9% the speed of light). Even in this scenario, it would still take more than 4 years to reach the nearby star system. Following that, the construction of the necessary systems would require additional time. Finally, the transmission of data via laser beam through the vastness of space would take another 4 years. While this concept is intriguing, it currently appears to be beyond the realm of feasibility, at least in the foreseeable future, perhaps even beyond the next century. 😅
