- We had an amazing opportunity to head straight to Audi Loves Park and pick up a brand new competition-spec Audi R8 for a great customer and friend of ours! We take this machine right back to the shop and begin working on installing our Alpha 12 Performance Package and put down some serious power. After that, we head to Great Lakes Dragaway where we get to see this build in action!

8.47 out of the box that car is going to kill when it's track tuned and in decent weather conditions without the spin I can see 8.30 or 20 easy on kill mode great job AMS

Another stunning project! You believe a stage 4+ transmission with this amount of power (like 1400whp) is relatively safe for occasional drag races on non-prep surface? Not planning to rrag race it all the time, mostly street racing

How are you liking the Plaid after some time?
AMG West it's an awesome daily with crazy traction control. Very cheap to operate with no maintenance. I'll have another R8 or 992 TTS for a weekend toy next year
@@derekk5992 Any squeaks/rattles? I have a friend who started to have small problems after about 6 months on his Plaid. Lose panels and some rattles. I’ve borrowed it for a weekend but I’m just not a sedan kinda guy. Convertibles and coupes for me. The exception to that would be the Porsche Taycan or the Lamborghini Urus.
I know very little about the tuning world but this is very interesting. I had no idea they could get numbers like that. 0-60 in 1.9??? Wow!!!
Considering a 2020 or newer R8 Spyder, 911 Cab, NSX Type-S (If I can reduce the crazy markups) or the new SL 63. I would consider the Maserati MC20 convertible but I would like to stay below 200k so no go for now and they already have a long wait list.

Quick question: do these cars stay 4wd, with certain kits, or do they go rear wheel regardless of Alpha kit?
They all stay AWD. There is non package AMS sells that deletes AWD.
Jordan is correct. The vehicle will stay AWD or RWD depending on what the vehicle has from the factory.
How long did this build take you guys?
I wish we had you guys in the UK. Something like that would take a year to do.

What stage transmission build you guys go with? I’m assuming it’s not a stock trans. I have a 2020 R8 and I just bought your kit.
To hold this kind of power we recommend the full Stage 5+ trans build. That is what this customer went with as well.

Yes actually, we have had multiple employees at one point who owned Q50's, and a few have been thinking about going with the new Z once released

He said he was around 1250-1300whp for these passes. What kid target boost pressure on that map? Curious how it matches up to mine. I’m on 64/66. My 1250 map was around 16psi. I’m on PS4’s as well with motec but have not made it to the track yet. Curious if I’ll end up close to the same time.

Our cars are thoroughly broken in before any pulls or runs. It usually just isn't filmed because it's not the most interesting content to be frank with you. 😅
