This foam is interesting. Seems like it has good cleaning properties.
These videos are proof that these modern, especially DI engines are expensive to maintain.
You have a ton of ecology equipment which can fail, everything is made out of plastics and then there's this carbon buildup issues. This has been somewhat remedied with added port injection.
Also it doesn't help that VAG engineered the timing and pulley system to be at the back of the engine. Everything's just crammed.
So for any maintainance you have to pull the motor.
    Thanx for the video!!

Use any other kind of fuel treatment than seafoam PLEASE! Seafoam was made for 2 cycle engines that use a fuel and oil mixture, vehicles nowadays are 4 cycls and dont mix oil and fuel, you will be unnecessarily burning the oil in the seafoam in your engine. PLEASE try lucas or a better brand of upper cylinder cleaner and you will be much happier with the results 😊

    • @justincace5517

Fuel never reaches the valves. You're seafoam is only cleaning your fuel system in removing moisture. Complete waste of money on a direct-injected vehicle.

Outstanding and impressive work, indeed a very nice job and excellent presentation, where I come from we used to warm up the engine, take about one quart of water dump it slowly into the intake system while holding the throttle running above idle until running out of water then put a little marble mistery oil, to lubricate the whole intake system, remove the spark plugs, inspect for carbon in the cylinders, guarantee a quicker, cleaner cheaper way to clean for carbon deposit, but that was the old school. That was on carburated engines.

All because the crankcase ventilation goes into the intake manifold. An oil catch can would go some way to minimising the amount of carbon build up but not completely. Previous to direct injection most gasoline cars were port injected which washed the back of the intake valves and there was never much (if any) carbon build up.

Installation of a catch can(to isolate oil vapor blow-by),adding Seafoam to the motor oil, and doing a Seafoam treatment every 10000 miles(every other oil change)will help,....but this type of buildup is inevitable with GDI engines.
Someone should design a kit that puts an injector upstream of the intake manifold plenum (similar to a dry nitrous oxide system) that periodically introduces a fuel charge to help break down the oil carbon deposits on vehicles that didn't come with this type of system later.
