    thank you, as someone who plans to visit in the fall for 2 months (additional month in Guanajuato) this video made me realize the benefit of hiring a driver for an entire day to familiarize myself with all the neighborhoods. SMA is really looking like my favorite colonial town.

    Thank you. If one could afford it would be nice to have a tiny bare-bones studio in town for late nights. With a spacious tranquil place way out in the inexpensive outskirts. Now I know what the inside of the "Citi market" looks like too. Have heard so much about it.

    Just stumbled upon your useful website/CZcams Channel. Plan to retire in Mexico in a couple years and these are super helpful! I'm thinking it might be best to do a year in SMA or Ajijic while I get my footing and work on my Spanish, then move to somewhere less ex-paty, such as Oaxaca. Does that sound reasonable?

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  Před 2 lety +3

      Hi Jeri
      Yeap! Many people do that. Move to a more expat saturated city to make the transition easier
      Then they move elsewhere when they feel more comfortable
      Some stay in the same city after a while too. It all depends on you 😀

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  Před 2 lety +2

      The public transportation system is very good if you are willing to take some time to learn it. There are a variety of private buses known as colectivos that take you from one end of town to the other.

    Thank you for this video, Mariana. My wife and I are planning to retire in Mexico soon, and were leaning toward Merida, but she LOVES this town much more. We will be in touch. Thanks. BTW, she was born in Mexico, but I am American. We have been married for over 30 years and lived in Pilsen in Chicago, so I learned Spanish and know the food, music, culture and family-orientation. We also want to volunteer and help people. We will be in touch.

      @MexicoRelocationGuide  Před rokem +1

      It really all depends on the size of the house, the condition it is in, who rents it from you, and a lot of variables. However a good rule of thumb is that the further away from centro, the more affordable
