    Nice one chaps. I mean, for all I know, it took 2 hours of footage to get this nicely paced little meet up and convo together. You both seemed pretty natural. I only say this as I'm incredibly awkward meeting people I don't know well. God forbid it was ever on camera😱 Good little behind the scenes though.👍

    I've seen a trick elsewhere for superglue which is to use bicarbonate as an activator. Normal baking powder works. I dab my finger in the bicarb then rub it on one surface and blow or rub off any visible powder then a few drops of glue on the second surface and just hold them together for ten seconds. Instant bond and no weird aerosols in a small space

    A great video as always. It is really interesting seeing a studio workshop, set up with good lighting and displays. Mine is just a woodwork shop with a camera tripod 😂😂. I only discovered Peter Millard a couple of months ago when I was at the Benchdogs workshop picking up my rail square. Ralph the owner mentioned him and so far I have been glued to Peter's videos, very much like yours.

  • @tonyworkswood
    @tonyworkswood Před 2 lety +1

    That was very interesting seeing an off the cuff random insight into Peters workshop and tools. Listening to Peter how he doesn't spray anymore, too old or make fitted furniture and
    how his workshop has transformed into a CZcams studio. We have followed the same path exactly apart from the gap difference as a CZcams Creator. Enjoyed the video Keith. Tony

    What a great vid, thanks dude, have subscribed, I have a set of long (600mm) F clamps that kept slipping so I drilled a series of holes along the bar, effectively turning them into sash clamps, they work great, and can be bolted together, !! Great channel, thanks for posting

  • @harveysmith100
    @harveysmith100 Před 2 lety

    A bit late to this video but I thought I would add my thoughts.
    The really useful thing in Peter's workshop that never gets a mention is the Ikea step stool.
    I used a customers one once and thought I must get one. Then I saw a broken one in a skip, a few screws and it has been a trusty companion ever since. The footprint is so small you can have them in the smallest of bathrooms as a saw bench, a step or somewhere to sit during lunch. Honestly, treat yourself, they are a wonderful addition.
    Ratchet clamps, the Festool ones are probable the best on the market, Festool buy them from Bessey, so just buy the Bessey unless you really need green handles.
    You can hear it in Peter's voice that he doesn't miss doing the client work. Some of them can be so fussy and the richer they are the worse they are, so central London must be a nightmare.

    Wow. I very much enjoyed this video. I love Peter. He is so down to earth and easy to understand. Truth be told, you both have become my favorite content creators. Only difference is, Peter is more your typical, home carpentry, sheet goods guy, and you do an array of DIY home Improvement, Furniture Builds, Restoration/Repair, (Tool and Task comparisons), and small biography stuff. You may have more variety on your channel then can be found on most woodworking channels.

    mafell track saw is truly amazing but even after a year or so having it I struggle to get used to the way it tilts down - it goes forward (as its hinged at the back) and I find it hard to keep it all the way down while pushing it along consistently. but it's great piece of kit and maybe one day my muscle memory from my previously owned hilti will finally adjust to the new way.
