- Time-lapse of the construction of layout #5. I only did some recording at start, and the project was cancelled in the mean time.
The last part of the clip shows the construction of contact tracks with Märklin M-tracks.

The layout was dismantled, and there are no track plan online anymore.

@@Videoman2000 thx, I used the initial layout in the video to re-create a track plan with SCARM. I only have 162 x 45 inches available space at the moment, and am trying to get as much into this w/o overloading the layout. I like the layout in the link, but will probably never have that kind of space (nor time and funds) available to dedicate to trains, as I have an approx. 30,000 pieces model car collection in my basement...

A little explanation is needed. It looks like a vast fiddle yard. What about the rest of the layout? It's so repetitive that it's hypnotic.
Dave Day Yes it was the fiddle yard, or we say in german the shadow station. The rest of layout never got build.
I think there shud be much more dramatic music.

If someone can afford model railroading... they can afford a couple of tools. :p
I don't know...Marklin trains are a heck of a lot more expensive then a couple of tools....and a heck of a lot more practical for every day use too.

People work with what they have but its easy to point out things others could do better isn’t it, at least he’s doing something he loves and enjoys even with limited materials and tools. Hope you can say the same

@Nunya Why even be rude? He is wanting to start his layout, with a limited budget. Right now my layout is a WIP Layout. Honestly. Just because you have money, doesn't mean you have to be rude about others. Also, it's more creative to do it manually, instead of 100 dollar machines. I'm doing the same thing as he is.
