If you saw my video last week, I'm curious... are you going to apply for monetization "early" (at 500 subs) or just wait until you get to 1,000 and are actually eligible for ad revenue? (No wrong answer here! Just curious what you're thinking about all this. 🙂)
I've been thinking of starting of channel for my woodworking and I think I would wait until I've hit the 1,000 subscribers to apply. Mainly so that I have access to more tools and ways to generate revenue. Also, since I would still be at main job, I don't think I would have the time to make extra things for memberships or extra perks for subscribers.
Is there any downsides to applying early?
I’m already at 1k. Don’t have the watch time for anything. I got subs off shorts… and I kinda regret it.
Isn't it better to go for the route of affiliate marketing (links on description, etc) with Amazon and/or etc? (I wonder about it, is not a rhetorical question :D ) I guess that still community guidelines better be respected, as if not, probably the algorithm would sink you (just my suspicion, though).

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my CZcams channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 896 subs and > 700 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

@@TheRetro_Bacon Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say that you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my CZcams channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a CZcamsr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this CZcams thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! @@lavlolrandoms Thank you! I recently quit nursing as I hate it and it doesn’t make me fulfilled at all. Working in a very toxic environment isn’t worth sacrificing for. I then decided to slowly dig my way out. I am now an office manager in a clinic and do creative stuff via CZcams and freelancing. It’s still a corporate job but I’m happier than working as a Nurse. I like the people I work with and they treat me with respect and as a human-being. That’s what’s more important to me. Having a sense of purpose through creating online content I truly care about also helps a lot. My freelancing gigs also give me creative outlets. I like the variety of tasks of being a manager as well as it offers tons of creativity. This job also gives me more free time for myself and I can spend some time socializing with my loved ones and meeting new folks. I couldn’t have been much happier if I didn’t start taking actions to change my life.
I wish I had this video back when I was starting. I was so mad because I had great content but wasn't getting any attention. 1k was mission impossible. I was lucky when I found out I can boost my channel with initial subs just enough to start getting noticed. I got myself first couple of hundred subs for very low price (personally used Fame ster). After that my main channel gain a ton of organic traffic.

egrowers helped me a lot, the guys enabled monetization for me within 1.5 weeks, and from the first day, I started earning modest amounts (a few dollars daily) from my old videos. If someone else has this problem, I recommend them 🙂

Hey, quick question! There's this survey about buying subscribers and watch time for CZcams. Some sites offer cheap stuff that might disappear, others are expensive but guarantee it sticks. If you were trying to get monetized, would you pay $99 for temporary stuff (gotta monetize fast!) or $599 for permanent results?
I have a question for you. Had you get your location set and seen on your About page before the monetization, or did the monetization require you to set it visible?
