My hand pump is when the SHTF only . Lol One thing not to many talk about is warming up your compressor before you start to fill your tank or PCP . Remember , most the tanks you are filling have about 150 bar and the compressor is having to go up hill to the 300-350 bar you are shooting for . I let my compressor run for a small warmup before I even put it under a load . Heating the oil and warming the rings for that high pressure fill is not a bad idea . Another problem is where you are running your compressor . Is it in a climate controlled environment or outside . Moisture will damage your regulator and valving . A lot can be said about having a portable tank you filled in a climate controlled pumping station to use later in the field . Don’t forget to change your compressor oil, much more frequently that a a regular 150 psi compressor. Think about it , 150 psi vs. 3500psi to 4500 psi in some cases . Heat kills lubricating oil fast !
Good video. I have had Nomad 2 for about 3 years. When I first got it I got 4-5 fills before it locked up and would run for few seconds and shut off. After talking to someone at air venturi about it they said moisture in cylinder can cause it to become pressure locked. After taking out plug in the bottom and running it for a couple minutes all the moisture drained out. Now after every fill i just do a clean out run, and few drops silicon oil every 10+ Fills. I also added a moisture collector to the line going into the gun. I think that is the problem with the smaller compressors and issues people have is they don’t perform any basic maintenance on them. They just keep filling gun until compressor fails. I shoot almost daily between my three pcp rifles(Thomas, hft500 and gauntlet) and Steyr Evo10e pistol and the nomad 2 is still going strong. I would like to get larger compressor and bottle down the road . Hard to decide which one
I bought the Hill EC3000…and regret it. It’s maybe ok for a 200cc tank, but not for much bigger….hence the reason I’m watching now. I’m confident you’re telling me the truth vs all the paid spokesmen of the bigger companies (like say…FX and a few others…and I own 4 FXs…but they’re not a wonderful as the influencers say).
Nomad 2 lol only last just over a yr once I got a 580cc bottle for my gun the nomad 2 broke piston shot out the side of the compressor so I just bought a youg heng compressor sorry if I missed spelled the name it's freaking load in the house lol but yup that's what I use and a hand pump thanks for sharing bsafe buddy and I agree 👍 💯
Excellent as always. I have a GX CS3 PCP Air compressor and I am always afraid that water and other substances enter the air tank of the rifle and other parts of the rifle. Can this compressor prevent water and waste materials from entering the rifle? If not, can this oil water separator be used in this compressor and is it useful?thanks
The water filter I showed should do the job for just about everyhting. If you are really worried you can do a double filter. meaning you can filter from your compressor into your tank then when you fill your gun put the filter on your tank between your gun just to make sure you have all the water out. Good info in video and comments, cheers! And now for the poor: using a ~200€ Tuxing compressor in decent as well as abhorrent conditions for over a year. Not once has it failed, good cause the spare parts came along already broken (didn't bother contacting seller). Fill 0.5L bottles in 5 min. Run the compressor in between fills to expell moisture and manually shut it of if it overheats (50°C would be cut-off but never got there). Filter compressor oil with brown paper bag in PET bottle funnels; and when replacing oil, thoroughly rinse particulates out of the engine with oil. Lot's of cheap fun so far, if it breaks, reckon get another and have plenty of spare parts... possible upgrade: suspend it in wooden frame to ameliorate vibrational noise. Weidmannsheil

I have the same moisture collector you have on the table in your video, although it seems to work well the issue I have with it, is it’s like charging another rifle. That has to pressurize and the gun . Noticed it doubled the time to charge my rifle, and seems to be just more run time and wear on the compressor. Do you know of any smaller moisture collectors that work well?
I noticed that as well it does waste alot of air. So sadly just seems to really suck with the size and the amount that is used. For me I am filling bigger tanks but I know what you mean. hmmmm cant be any help right now on that one.
I've discovered that a small 4" fiber filter removes almost all of the water if you place it in a pan of ice water. This cools th filter enough so almost all the water condenses in the filter media, just make sure you change the media often, and disassemble the housing to allow it to dry out after use.
I like your delivery style but struggle with the American method of measuring capacity. Apologies I'm European. For a few years I used a Yong Heng, now using the hill EC 3000, no complaints so far. Good luck with your channel. Just a pity it's solely for the US audience.
