I can watch this game over and over again. It's just perfection for me, showing skill over power. I cannot remember a time that anyone has played a game against Elshorbagy and caused him to shrug his shoulders like that as if to say "what can I do" because really, when Shabana plays that perfect of a game, anticipating his opponent so well its just amazing to watch and if you are playing against him there is nothing that can be done..
the anticipation excellent. one key is not allowing Elshorbagy to bully the court. and to not get sucked into playing endless length with him. attacking off of the length and keeping him off balance.
wihtout taking extra risk…it's a talent.

This is the dream match-up for most squash enthusiasts!
The classic age and experience vs youth and power. Although who really can beat Shabana when he's this relaxed and accurate?

But yeah, Shabs is lethal and this 3rd game illustrates that point perfectly!

If Shabana can play a game like that at this age then he should never retire. Absolutely magnificent. Keeping in mind that Shorbagy was in top form and actually went on to win the tournament.

Saw this at the time and just re-viewing it again in 2020. AMR was close to perfection in that one game. Great to see someone who could win games by magic accuracy and changes of pace, rather than just outlasting the opponent. Please give us more old Shabana matches.

i gotta say i love this channel. i keep up with it regularly any appreciate all the content provided. That being said i hate the intro music, it always blows my ears out.

Shabana... man. I wish I could see him with his 26 year-old legs and these tactics/abilities. We see flashes of it but the game is so explosively demanding it's hard to keep it up for an entire tournament.
