I love the 24mm f/2.8 and the Zeiss Milvus Distagon 35mm f/2 and Zeiss Makro-Planar 50mm f/2. Smaller than the Z Lenses but they have aperture control rings which I can use these lenses on other camera systems using adapters. Great Video! Cheers!
I’ve seen some amazing footage with the Zeiss Milvus Distagon lenses, they look solid!! Maybe in the future I’ll try some out if the right project comes along, thanks for watching!
@@AtomicPixel Yep! Fx3 has been my main workhorse camera and shot all of my talking sections in this video with it! Bmpcc6k g2 was a loaner but I may look into getting the new full frame pocket 6k
I recently brought a set of Nikkor AIS lenses for my Lumix S5. All are f2 except for my 50 which is f1.8. I use a range from 28mm to 135mm and i couldn't be happier with them! The perfect balance of sharpness and vintage characteristics.
Niice!! I’ve seen some great footage with the s5 and vintage lens combos! I agree they’re really perfect if you want sharpness and a bit more character 👌
All the older versions of the Nikkor lenses (Ai, K, Pre Ai) have a much longer focus throw, so it would be better to use any of them versus the Ai-S versions for creating video. I think the Ai-S versions are the precursors (in concept) to Autofocus (made easier to fast focus).
@@victor.melchorfilm I especially like the look of the Non-Ai versions (all metal), warm and beautiful flares, though it's easier to adapt a focus follow ring to the Ai ones I think. Cheers!
@@melissamelgoza2069 Ooo I could see that!! And tbh when I’m not experimenting with vintage lenses the sigma 24-70 pretty much lives on my camera its def an amazing lens!
Can you match cut footage from an AI and AIS lens into one narrative scene? Im looking to get these lenses..my understanding is that there's optically no difference between footage from AI or AIS lenses
Thoughts on the Nikkor AI-S? Let me know!
Heck yeahh!! Absolutely love this Victor the footage looks so good!
Ayy thanks so much Mia!! 😭🙌

Thanks so much for watching!! 🙌 And yess love how the footage looks from the bmpcc6k and nikkor lens combo!
@@victor.melchorfilm you have an fx3 or Sony right? You still shooting Sony these days?

@@victor.melchorfilm ahh true true.
I’ve just gotten into the Sony system (fx3/a7iv) from Fuji and I’ve been loving the images so far!
Will always love the character of vintage lenses! Beautiful footage and review!
Right!! Love how the look is and thanks so much Dionne! 🙌

Yessir!! Been way too long, life and work has been busy but finally made some time for a personal video! 🙌
I will say that sigma art 24-70 made it look like a studio ghibli movie to me!! But awesome as always Vic!!

If you are bored, try getting a 70-210 F4 canon fd. I got one for 15$ and it's been so much fun 😅
Thanks for the rec!! Damn that is a good deal 😮💨

I don't currently own any ai lenses unfortunately, but I think I have heard they are similar optically!
