    EXTRA TIP - Make sure you don't wind the wool too tight around your hand as it makes it hard to get off neatly. Wind much looser than you think you need to, as the more wool you have, the tighter it gets. Thanks for watching :)

    Tip to make pom pom bigger: wrap more wool/yarn around your hand and cut off more of it than the 6 inches mentioned at 0:48. (I used about 10 inches)
    Hope this helps! 😄

    Gonna give this a try. How do you attach it properly to the top of a beanie? Well forget about buying pom poms i can make them. Just made one for my hat. It is really cute and I didn't trim them tail after tying the knot I left them long used my crochet hook, centered and threaded it through, tied a knot or two on the underneath side perfect. I didn't trim it real short but simply cleaned it up and it looks great! Thank you for this trick.

    How many times do you wrap the yarn around your hand?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  Před 5 lety +1

      It depends completely on the thickness of the wool. I was using about 12 or 14 ply which was thick so 20 wraps was enough. Remember to wrap loosely so you can get it off your hand. You might need to experiment a bit with thinner wool. The more wraps you do the thicker your pom pom will be. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      If they fall apart when you cut them then yes you need to tie tighter. Wrap yarn around the center a couple of times and tie tightly.
