I think magnolia trees can take storms undaunted. Azaleas love pine trees acidic soils and weather storms. Don’t require maintenance and grow huge. You can spread them by layering or just let them alone. You lived in Cuba. You know what survives.

At least you two are safe. Maybe some of the fallen trees can be re-purposed into something like another structure or rustic furniture, gazebo? Just pondering out loud. Cheers. 👍

We have a generator back-up for the well and the mobile home, so other than the $40 a day for generator gas we did OK. Give us a holler in November. I am 70, but I am use to all this kind of work. My son is 36 and said he would come to if it is on a weekend when he is off work. I have an 80v Greenworks chainsaw now and I am sold on the battery electric. My mower is a Greenworks battery electric and they are both very powerful. I sold my gas mower and chainsaw and will never go back.

I’m shocked carport survived and yet the shed blew up. Even “mini-tini” was undisturbed. Check the window sealants/gaskets on her. She may need some tlc after that beating she bravely overcame. Winnebago may want to come in and check her out professionally for some promotional marketing that could provide endorsement opportunities for you. Also, whoever made that carport should hear your experience. Amazing!!

The tree damage in your area was expected because it has not experienced a strong storm like Idalia. Amazing that you had no structural damage that I could see from the video. Nature will take care of the damage, but it takes time. Still a cool place!

Some say your neighboring county, Madison, was hit harder than Taylor county, with the exception of the storm surge. I'm from Madison with many friends and relatives still there, some without power 7 days later. Pelicamp will rebound beautifully, best wishes Robert.

Your pine-tree should be able to be up righted with a some strategically placed temporary support. Not sure if it will correct itself.

Its a lot of clean up and those oak logs weigh a lot. But amazingly your chain saw still works. Is the lawnmower salvageable? Glad to hear you got the power back on and the well is working. You have a good attitude and yes the trees will grow back. We made it through back to back hurricanes Jeanne and Frances Cat 3 storms in 2004 and it was amazing how fast things got back to normal although we needed a new roof and we were sooo happy to see the power trucks after two weeks with no power. One step at a time on the cleanup. Wishing you and Ily all the best and safe travels.

You were real lucky, clean up takes a lot of work. I was at My sister's place in Homestead the day after Andrew hit. It was hard to believe how dangerous the twisted limbs were! A professional would be the smart choice. Stay safe!

Next time build a housing over the well you may not have a second chance next time. Besides it protects it from freezing in winter.

Now you can plant the type of trees you want to have and the placement… I think you can contact the Forestry Department and and they can supply you with some trees…

I'm so glad everything fared relatively well over that way! Idalia was still a category 2 when it passed over lowndes county, and it was the strongest storm on record for both Valdosta and Lowndes County. A LOT of people here lost their homes or had very significant roof damage. Of course we don't have the stronger building codes here that you see on the coast. I was surprised to see so many homes in Keaton Beach come out unscathed! I wonder how Cedar Key fared, I haven't seen much of anything on it!

Robert I'm glad it wasn't too serious for you, I notice maybe you didn't set your mic up on your Gopro, your voice sounded not so clear when your behind it. If lived closer i would be happy to help you but, I'm in California. But another good Video 👍😀
