Rome Total Realism: Imperium Surrectum just dropped a massive update with 0.6, and this time around we'll be showing off the Area of Recruitment feature as Athens. Of course, we'll be doing that on VeryHard/VeryHard/Extreme, and migrating to those units will have to happen after we establish some "unity" amongst the Greek city states.

Its funny cause Heraclitus ("The Conqueror") actually became a living God in my campaign 🤣
Also the counter-play to peltasts is cretan archers (or in general archers with long range and high damage) or as you said a heavy cavalry charge to instantly break them though that might not work if the general is alive and/or they are surrounded by friendly troops.
