I still don’t get the hate for this movie I personally enjoyed it, but if you guys think it’s just a copy of A Bug’s life the. That’s fine by me, but to me this movie is more unique then A Bug’s Life.
EnderEthan I'd enjoy the film too, it's still a classic film to this day, but we had this film on October 2 1998, it was DreamWorks first animated film i known in a long time...
You're absolutely right that it's more unique.. A Bugs Life, The Three Amigoes, and Galaxy Quest are the same movie.

it isn't a copy, this is basically a movie about an Ant that stops someone from turning the colony into a dictatorship
Far from a copy, just released too closely together, leads the movie brain into basic similarities before uniqueness.
Colonel Cutter is one of my favorite characters in all of animation and movies. He shows that people make mistakes and realize they’re on the wrong side of history and redeem themselves by joining the right side. A person that questions the authority of immoral orders and turns against it.

I like how the soldier ants are confused and kinda going wtf as Mandible gives his speech.
Kind’ve shows that maybe either they weren’t as loyal to Mandible as he thought, they never really understood what he was doing, or they were really loyal to Cutter.
@@patrickd.3681They were loyal to Cutter, if anything. The minute Cutter gave them orders concerning the rescue mission of the workers while he found Z, lets you know.
i think it’s reference to how everyone in the film comments on how Mandible is totally nuts
and it shows even his men are starting to see he’s totally lost it.
Probably the most realistic animated anxiety ever. Also gotta love how the foreman dude just went like 🤔 when asked if he was ordered to kump off a bridge.
The foreman(George) is the best background character in Dreamworks history

Considering ants can survive under water for hours, can swim and can can dig in mud.... really all they had to do was wait till it flooded and then just swim out into the lake and float to the surface.
The lake with presumably bugs in it that would eat the ants.
Alot would probably still die.
This also widely depends on the species of ant.

This movie was so good. I didn’t understand it when I was a kid but now as I got older, I finally understand what the meaning of this movie was about so this movie is really funny but I just wish this wasn’t made for little Kids I will say more for the preteen kids but overall this movie was really good and I loved it
Same. I was too young to understand the messages the writer's made. Now that i'm rewatching it, the plot of this scene makes perfect sense.
Tell a big lie that traps everyone the city finds "weak", mislead them into a false path that results in killing every single one in there.
I was 7 when I watched this movie. It was entertaining and fun to watch when I was little and i understand it very well the movie (not the message but the story).

I barely understood the words. 😂 My jaw dropped when i rewatched this years later and started hearing curse words, on Cartoon Network! 😅

Antz is a decent film, despite the hate it gets. I remember watching it on VHS. A good start for a good line-up of animated films from Dreamworks.
Btw, that foreman ant who "encourages" the workers, I hate him. He doesn't think for himself and "accidentally" brings about the flood that almost killed the entire colony. So stupid. Should have thrown him into the water.
And he was one of the first to pick up Z and Princess Bala after saving them from the flood

5:20 I do like how even in the throws of absolute panic, every ant still goes around the queen.
7:30 reminds me of how the Hulk alone held the 150 Billion Ton Mountain Range or alone held a black hole open alone to ensure his teammates wouldn't get hurt
in the original script and storyboard weaver was suppose to be the one to be thrown back into the water and rescued and azteca was suppose to cry and bring him back like bala did with z. wish they would of kept it that way that's just my opinion.
Z really couldve said "on the queens authority" when questioned. wouldve at least bought some time

This is still my top 5 all time favorite movies. I would love it if they made a remake of it.
Mandible is gonna wash away the weak elements of the colony and build a strong colony because he's really a bad guy! He lied to the queen and the worker ants about the magnificent tunnel or whatever it is. So the point is, he's gonna kill Z for kidnapping Bala. I should run away from here as far away as I can!

This movie really had an all star cast. I was today’s years old when I realized this movie had Stallone and company.

it gets better, i learned that soldier ants, while being the big tough guys of the colony, need the workers to take care of them. Soldier ants don't even know how to feed themselves and the workers have to feed them
And the mandible is also a psychopath with no honor, empathy, remorse, anti social, scary, and also a sadist meaning that he enjoys watching people suffer.

The movie would have been 10/10 if it didn't have Woody Allen's voice polluting it. As it is, it's an 8/10 because of Woody Allen.
This is pretty generous score since many movies that were considered good are now called trash because he was involved.
