- Roughly 20 miles off the coast of West Africa, the island of Bioko sits alone in the Atlantic Ocean. This rainforest-dominated terrain is home to one of the rarest primates in the world: the drill.
From the Show: Monkeys of Bioko bitly.com/2DlbNX9 - Zábava
How are they reclusive but they tell the camera crew their names.
They name themselves? Holy monkey! They must have a hidden civilization in those jungles!
Thanks for the laugh.
I highly doubt they named themselves, the humans would of named them.
Even the reclusives have standards
The camera crew are all baboons. They r recording relatives.
Man, look at that footage...how fortunate to see such HD footage of this beautiful place. Thank God for drones, awesome cameras, and for you folks who put it all together.
Thank God for drones is probably the biggest oxymoron I've ever heard.
You do realize how drones were originally created? Youre thankful the military was spying on other countries and bombing them from the comfort of their offices? This is hilarious.
May they be left alone and not be contaminated by human interference.
Whites smh

Cambodian VO's would want to get there in a heartbeat

But there is no God, only Evolution

@John Spartan both is full of liars and lies... 😂😂😚😚 Sect
Enjoy it while you can, you know someone has to messed this all up for a buck!
Yep. All those tree leaves are money.
I gotta say that I love this "site" but I really wish a lot of these videos were a bit longer,,
Theres youtube search filter options that find videos for longer than 4mins.
It's because it's scenes from full shows
You must have a real short attention span
Indeed
You mean "channel"?
Survived for 12.000 years? Just wait a few years, we'll find a way to destroy this forest
It's gonna take us a week to see all of it, then half the time in destroying it
USA N RUSSIA want ur location.
The Chinese will find a way to poach those animals
@@davidmartineztorres8731 omfg I forgot that clan🤣
David martinez torres but their bones serve important medical purposes though.
3:00 Now that's how you check fruit.
Step 1: Make sure the surroundings are clear.
Step 2: Extend your pinky (a Posh Brit explorer has been there before, obviously) and pick the fruit gently.
Step 3: Give it a good sniff.
Step 4: Take a small bite.
Step 5: Spit it out.
Step 6: Repeat.
Try that at your local market. You'll never go wrong!
The pinky 😂😂😂
Shhhh I see you are cultured in these ways... Please teach as more when you can... Hmmmm so extension of the pinky is an important step?... Hmmm I had missed that.. thank you
😂😂😂😂
How much does he invest on his mane, it's looks like he gets it trimmed every so often.
A mane fit for a king 👑
His mane doesn’t grow out due to genetics, our genetics only allows our hair/fur to grow to such a length and this drude’s genetics give him the perfect length, not too mention a wirey type fur that prevents burs from being caught and keeps it nice and neat
Gucci mane
Their fur looks so soft, I would love to give these guys a hug! I don’t think they would appreciate it at all, though!
They’re so beautiful!
To be honest, I don't think you will appreciate it either ... but their fleas might welcome a change in their diet!
Ole Hansen Ack! I definitely would not appreciate fleas!
It’s also unlikely that they would help me out with that either, no grooming for humans who come out of nowhere with sudden hugs and squeals of “AWWW YOU ARE SOOOOO PRETTY!!”
Baboons have a reputation for unparalleled viciousness. They would bite parts off of you that you didn't even know you had.
soaringvulture That is very true!
They would probably tear your face off
I agree....these videos take me to a peaceful and calm place....wish they weren’t so short...
Great video. And wow, I love this narrator! Sounds like something right out of an IMAX movie.
I hope humans dont cut down this forest..

@Dan Trebune Indeed but several animal species' are becoming extinct. I fear for the siamang gibbons of which only 2000 remain.
@Dan Trebune I didnt say anything about not having enough trees. You seem the type to make assumptions
B b b but condos and stores
The faces and fur look so sculpted XD
Yes, primates look fake. It’s bizarre

Africa is such a beautiful continent, which is why I can't wait to move to the place of my ancestors.
You’re not moving there
@@patrickmcmahon2654 Tell why should I not?
XRaikxgeX there’s a lot of big birds there going absolutely nuts. They aren’t letting anyone migrate there
If you do, move to subsaharan Africa, Northern Africa is less stable and tends to be adverse to Americans.

Remarkable and beautiful!!! I want more!
there are Drills on the mainland, too. mostly in nature reserves made for them. i had a friend of mine visit cameroon for over a month to work there with them. Bioko is their main habitat but they do exist in mainland africa, as well. shouldve maybe waited until the end to write this but oh well...
"Male dominated" "Daughters will stay home all their lives" "Sons kicked out at age 6" These guys got things figured out, we could learn a thing or two from them

I didn't expect to enjoy this video as much as I did.. I like all animals but monkeys & primates aren't my most favourite animals so I don't watch that many videos of them.. but this was interesting
Primates are the coolest dude. Smh

They're interesting of course but I prefer more beautiful animals like big cats.
@@fabiana7157 yeah I was never fond of monkeys because of that but still very interesting
But you do watch one in the mirror everyday.

Am I supposed to feel offended 😂 I have a bachelor's in biology, yes humans are primates, and we have a lot in common with chimps
omg... this is beautiful... 😍
Look how expressive and full of thought their eyes are - human like - You can’t tell me these animals don’t have consciousness - desires, fears, love, affection - Surely its different from humans but it’s there nonetheless
Always wanted to see footage of drills!
I was able to see geladas in san diego last year. It was truly extraordinary
I heard Home Depot has a wide variety of them. That's a good place to get drill.
Nice vid
Beautiful
that feeling when you discover something new 🙏❤
Here, on Bioko Island, lives one of the rarest primates, the Discount Mandrill
My beautiful country!
I wish there was something we could all sign for the preservation of large Forrests and jungles like these, and have it passed by Congress or something. I'm not some effeminate vegan, but this is not just our planet...
For our own country (USA) we have that but we Congress cannot sign anything for another country
I agree. But in the end the people that ruin these places and poach these creatures ignore all decency and rules! They will break every law for their own selfish purpose. Concentrate on punishment for these people, the laws are just words to them! Harsh punishment, that's what they will understand!!
You are an imperialist
absurd....
This island is beautiful ..
Beautiful apes.
The introduction simply nailed it...far better than Jurassic park and skull island intro
What a BEAUTY
Amazing
Technically, that male will not be able to mate with the daughters that stay in the troop, so for the sake of the continuation of the troop and healthy population, a new male will have to come in.
They live like lions
I love her whispery voice. Lady, tell me more...
The way she said the sons will be booted from the troop once reaching breeding age was quite cheeky.
It's very soothing!
Inb4 china starts poaching them for "medicinal purposes"
@Richard Kim monke soup
Eternal Void they eat them in Africa
Look at his beautyful coat you no
His lady's are takeing good care of him , what a beautiful place for them to live .❤❤❤
I wish it was longer 😂😂😂 this is like Disney to me
habituated. ... new favorite word
so epic...
Are these a smaller subspecies of the Mandrill?
Now if only this video was uploaded in like 1440p or 4k id be happier
Omg imagine going on the expedition to this rain forest! Some people have the coolest jobs.
You can easily come and see them. It's here in EG! And also turtles!
I first heard of a mandrill at a young age because of that megaman boss but never knew what kind of animal it was
If only they had been to Home Depot. There's plenty of drills there.
Lol imagine being 6 years old and your dad kicking you out
My friends seeing me leaving my house to hang out:
Are the trees battling or joining forces?
My guy look like he just walked out the barbershop
Hopefully "Mankind" will leave them alone!!!
A drill? Looks similar (without the markings) and sounds similar to a mandrill (another primate), I wonder if they’re closely related or?
They are both closely related infact
Handsome monkey, he looks like a cross between a baboons, and black crested macaque.
So, when she says the daughters stay but the sons get rejected, does he mate with his daughters?!?
Yeah if they were to stay. I know it’s the same with Lions and I’m sure a lot of other animals. It stops the animals from inbreeding.
@@frazierk300 Having the alpha male mate with his daughters *is* inbreeding.
@@soaringvulture I don't think he understood you...
So fluffy i wanna hug those monkey awwww
How much for 4 of em?
i can imagine this turning into a Pixar movie
I need to know his skin care routine.
Make's me wonder with all the storms we earthquakes if they are doing well today
Mutuku??that name though wakamba from my country wako wapi. He's very cute
We are all very blessed to be able to witness these magnificant primates. I pray that the will be untuched by mass tourism and hunting
Hunting by locals has never and ever decimated a group of animals. It's always the western world infatuation that put in danger. For example they said the island have been there for about 12000 hundred years, the locals know and visit this island. The Monkey are still striving right?
I wish they know there own name? Perhaps,..this monkey called etch others with that name.😁🌷
I was waiting to be told that long term exposure make cause liver damage, renal failure and dry mouth. And to seek a Doctors advice.
3:26 that’s a very weird tail! Why is it pink?
It literally looks like he gets a nice haircut
Some of the last remaining rain forests
C O O L ..... 🐒 I ❤ animals in the wild. 🐵
These monkeys are all actors and when the camera stops rolling they only eat Lobster and steaks
I knew it was coming.. only 3000 left in nature. literally every animal and natural videos I watch always talks about the destruction of them and all of their cause is one thing: humans...
What’s his barbers name?
It's a shame that developers so they think, are lusting to destroy those forests the world needs more then ever since, were in the sixth extinction and aren't getting or replacing any new animals with the middle age Earth we have.
He looks like my bus driver
In a few billion years this could be us
"In a few billion years this could be us," you say.
You are so optimistic.
Within two or three hundred years, humans will likely nuke the human race back to the days when drooling was an advanced behavior.
The godfather of UK Drill
Love it or not, we're gonna run out of cute furry animals to discover
Did the animals tell y'all their names?
Looks like a mandrill
How do the female daughters find mates when they mature if not let out of the group? Anyone know?
Who named them??

Just hope humans don't destroy their land....
Mandrills?
Holyshit i have never seen this primates.
Such a gorgeous place!
I hope it remains safe n sound. N humans don't civilise it.
@M M basically yes.
I wonder if these monkeys feel immasculated by the Mandrills
these monkey must be protected at all cost
The narrator's voice is "rare-rer"!
I thought that was a primate called Sasquatch
Sapooti has a tail in back and front
If they live in such a secluded area why are there only a 3000 left in the wild?
Because the ones that didn’t live in a secluded place got killed.
Deforestation and hunting for meat in most of their fromer habitat. So that they only live in 2 smal populations
Hope they are left to themselves without human interference.
Did i just hear mutuku my kamba people🙊
That's it!!! Humans have found and "invaded" this beautiful land .
@ Thank you. I presume that they respect the wildlife and their surroundings?
"Cut off from humans for 1200 years= survival"
The translation really bothers the video.
