Çhris: I'm ole school jus like u., and I jus want 2 say thk u for showing ppl "ole school cooking" many think caramel icing is betty crocker frosting "NOT" nowhere near traditional hmmade icing, or they put eagle brand condensed milk in water for 4-5 hrs till caramelized "NOT"...it was a joy to stir along side my mom to make this icing and I finally showed my niece how to make it ( I passed the torch)....all I say to your subcrbrs get her cookbk for "real" dwn hm ole school scratch cooking!....drop the mike♥♥♥
Very well said. I agreed there is nothing like an ole school cook. There is also no better teacher. Yasss! Real ole school caramel!!!!! Of course I've made lots of pineapple upside down cakes but I have always used brown sugar and butter in the bottom of the layer pan. This looks awesome and I can almost taste the caramel. This is a must try for me ...... awesome video, Chris!
What I love about your channel, you educate people how to cook and you take your time to show how it should be done, and why it's done. You remind me of my mom's cooking. I love your videos because Chris can definitely cook! You remind me of my Mom and Auntee Laura. They both loved to cook and bake and were good cooks like you. Unfortunately I loss both of them at a very young age. My sisters and I compiled some recipes in our minds and wrote them down. Then Hurricane Katrina came along and we loss that. So I thank God for you and your videos because they allow me to recreate some of those loss recipes.
