Pineapple Upside Down Cake | Easy Chiffon Cake | Great for Newbie Bakers | Upside Down Sponge Cake

  • A Chiffon Cake or sponge cake with a touch of almond flavor, pineapple slices and cherries for a festive look that you can serve this any time of the year. It can be made easily at home as it includes simple and complete instructions for beginners in baking. Bake this for your family or for your home baking business!
    Pineapple Upside Down Cake
    Ingredients:
    • 8 large (150g) egg yolks
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) canola or vegetable oil
    • 3/4 cup (200ml) juice of pineapple slices
    • 1/2 tsp almond extract (you can also use vanilla extract)
    • 3/4 cup (160g) white granulated sugar
    • 2 1/4 cups (300g) cake flour, sifted twice
    • 1 tbsp (10g) baking powder
    • 1 tsp (5g) iodized salt
    Meringue;
    • 8 large (260g) egg whites
    • 1/2 tsp (1g) cream of tartar
    • 3/4 cup (160g) white granulated sugar
    Toppings:
    • 1 can (432g) pineapple slices
    • Cherries
    • 1/2 cup of corn syrup or use 1/2 cup brown sugar, caramelized
    *Do not oil baking pan.
    *Preheat oven at 160⁰C for 15 minutes.
    *Bake for 60 to 75 mins at the middle rack only. Turn it around halfway through at around 40 mins for even cooking and color.
    *Do not open the oven to check until only after 40 mins to not deflate the cake.
    *Put on a cooling rack before inverting the cake.
    Baking Dish Size:
    16 x 12 x 4 inch baking dish or you may use 2 square pan
    Baking Temperature:
    160⁰C preheat 15 mins and baking time is 60 to 75 mins or until golden brown and chiffon is set to the touch

    Mai goodness! Ang ganda talaga ng outcome makinis at malinis after you turned it upside down. Lahat ng mga napanuod kong upside down cake nilagyan nila ng brown sugar sa pan then pineapple and cherries at pagbaligtad nila mukhang hindi maganda kasi ung brown sugar naging dark.       Thanks for sharing. I want to do this cause I want two cakes but have one square pan and the chiffon batter will deflate if left to sit out. So I'll halve the recipe like you did and bake one cake at a time.

      Yes puede yan, wala ka ng iadjust sa recipe. Kapag nilagay at hindi naman umapaw, ok yan pero Mag ready ka lang ng extra pan na mas maliit baka sumobra ng konti.

      Hindi po puede mag grease ng pan pag chiffon ang gagawin lalo na yung sides. Need ng kakapitan ng chiffon para hindi ma deflate or mag shrink

      Oo puede kahit hindi mo ilagay sa ref puede din. Sa table lang. Ok lang din naman ilagay sa ref, hindi sya titigas agad kasi canola oil ginamit ko pero pag normal cooking oil, natutulog pag niref kaya tumitigas sa ref. Pag di mo binaligtad agad, baka manikit yung corn syrup sa ilalim ng pan kasi ire ref mo. Baka mahirapan kang baliktarin. Kaya dapat baliktarin na bago ipasok sa ref

      Pagkaluto ba saka nag crack? It's your oven temperature, masyadong maiinit. Baka hindi pa na preheat ng 15 mins yung oven nailagay mo na yung chiffon.
