It doesn't need to carry heavy armaments, only enough to defend itself. So an 83-meter patrol ship will provide a good balance of speed, patrol endurance, and sea-keeping abilities for its role.
If only HHI can show willingness to support SRDP program of PH, probably CG variants of 107.5m Jose Rizal Class or 116m HDC-3100 can be built locally at much cheaper cost since there will be no much sensitive equipment and weaponry needed.

This is great news. Its going to be locally built. Maybe Austal can do the LPDs on a trimarang hull design which are similar to the US Designs
