- After a poor opening round at Rugby World Cup 2023, Los Pumas won their remaining games to ensure they qualified for the knockout stages in France. They met an in form Wales team who had recorded a record win over Eddie Jones' Australia and had beaten the the surprise packages, Fiji.
The two sides met at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille in the opening the Rugby World Cup quarter-final. After Wales started strong, Argentina came back from 10-0 down to steal the match as Nicolas Sanchez scored the decisive try with a few minutes to go and secure a semi-final against New Zealand at the Stade de France in Paris a week later.

We argentinians do really love the Welsh people. There are some welsh colomies in Chubut province (Patagonia) where Welsh is spoken and there are newspapers, schools, tv and radio programs in Welsh; tuey are very good people and we love them and their culture, including their wonderfull Steidfodd (and excuse me for not speaking Welsh). But a match is a match, and nothing more.

Maybe this quarter finals were the best in rugby history. all 4 matches were epic. Amazing last minutes in this match, surprising how played Fiji against England and the epic matches of New Zealand/Ireland and South Africa/France.

The referee said that there were Argentinians ahead of the kicker when the ball was kicked and ahead of 10m line to where the ball landed or was caught. They were not overtaken by a teammate or placed onside by any action of the Welsh side. Therefore Wales get an option: PK where the offside Argentinians were when the ball landed or a scrum where Argentina last played the ball.

El rugby brutal, de agachar la cabeza y avanzar bestialmente por donde está el montón de oponentes, que juegan los pumas, aparte de cansar la vista no puede ganarle al rugby mental, elegante y de ojos abiertos que practican los neozelandeses.

yo concuerdo, no me gusta un despliegue tan fisico... aparte veo algo que le falta a este equipo, mas asociacion, una dinamica colectiva de pases y avances que lo hace mas analitico, o como decis vos, mental, a este estilo tan frontal, directo y hasta pareciera individualista, las sucesivas perdidas y faltas, aparte de esas brechas defensivas en el centro lo hacen ver como un equipo colectivamente debil aunque cuente con excelentes individualidades.

In Argentina there have always been a lot of good will towards Ireland and Wales and we share the hate for england (no capital E needed). Although not at the same level of england, but we are not very keen on the qunty Scotts either. Ireland and Wales the only loved ones in that part of the world. However, in the era of arrogant qunties O'Gara and Brian O’Driscoll, we weren't loving the Irish.
