Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

I love the way MCM has turned their show in to such a high quality show, but it's really cool to go back and look at the classics! And it's pretty fun that they are still as awesome today as they where five years ago!
Still watching in 2024. Love this series and remember when this released.
Watching in 2014 cause you guys are worth re-watching every now and again! :)
I have watched these every few months cos they are so good
im watching in 2015 :D

Has it really been 5 years since I subscribed? Man how time has flown! It is amazing to see where MCM came from to what it is now! I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings! 乾杯!
soooo good,my sentiments exact.

2019 guys i love the evolution of the show, god see this old episodes is so fun.
Wonder where Faceplant is nowadays
I wish my friends where mechanically inclined enough to do this. All my mates are pretty 🙃 when it comes to cars.
just been working on my car and now stopped for the night, come inside and start watching car builds on you tube........living the life haha
it's 2020 and i'm still watching these old videos
Someone should clean out the car first and then sell it to them with a note underneath a seat saying "I left no spare change for you."
it's always good to watch old MCM videos

Just amazing to see how far you guys have come over the last three years.....I still remember you're first ep and man how things have changed! You guys are huge now - who'd have thought aye? Anyway Welcome back and I can hardly wait to see what the future holds with this new season!
Oh my god this is amazing. Eight years ago this came out and it is just as good as ever.
Rake and faceplant are kinda creepy.
I think you guys will do ok on CZcams.
Great job I have been waiting so long to watch a vid like this. Way to show that you can take any car, put some work into it, and make it kickass.
You know what, I've never been a big fan of cars. But you guys are awesome and make it entertaining!
With old mates body-kit fabrication; I can see sorta how he did it, but do you have a video or interview with him, or an MCM2 video about how he completely did it? I have a little bit of experience in making fibreglass/bondo props, but for the life of me, can't figure out how this one managed to stay on the car. So...
Main Questions
1) The MDF looks narrow and as heavy as a general sheet of it. So is the MDF still attached to the car, or was the skeleton sheeted over and a fibreglass mold (not sure of right term there) of it left behind?
1.1) For that matter, was it even fibreglass that was attached, or was it a seperate cast made from a plastic (or aluminum??) compound?
2) How was the MDF (or fibreglass mold) joined to the car? It looks sturdy and not likely to rattle and bounce around on the road; which eliminates that it was pure adhesive, was it bolted or riveted on (and the hardware being bondo'ed over again)?
3) I understand bog can be heavy, I assume due to the way that the fibreglass (or fibreglassed MDF) was attached, that it could support the weight, and not just crumple and fall away from the car. So again, is it MDF supporting the bondo underneath the fibreglass, or is it just pure fibreglass?
If anybody could answer, or direct me to an answer, would be greatly appreciated!
Moog's maraca hammer was the original shake weight..... xD
Can't wait for the next 2 episodes, you guys did a great job on the show car and this video proves that. Keep up the excellent work!

It's funny how you guys call them "bonet" and "boot" instead of "hood" and "trunk" haha! Aussies ftw.
LOL....what a dumbass.....
Oh yeah. So dumb to jokingly point out differences in language and culture. How incredibly stupid of me. asswipes.
It's not just Aussies, we Brits call them that to. :D
Sorry dude, 'hood' and 'trunk' sound stupid.
FuZionSniperzZ but bonet and boot sound smart?

One of your best videos! Well done guys.

marty's girlfriend
+Rafenabe Rafenabe cheryl?
I doubt it
How come the mechanical Stig owns a 'K' car in Australia when you guys said in an older video that none of them are exported from Japan to any country in the whole word? Remember the Japanese auction house? Yes, I have been watching al of your episodes so far.
Is there a legal 'grey' area now, because I want to drive one in the UK, We do have very small 3 cylinder cars here you can drive with a motorcycle drivers licence, but they looks SOOO Euro crappy cheap :oP I hate paying the greedy British government too much!
Kei cars, not K cars. None of them are exported by the MANUFACTURER but individuals can buy them from Japan and have them shipped all over the world. You 'can' legally drive Kei cars in the UK I believe, before you buy one ask at your local police station first and call insurace companies to see if they'll insure a Kei car. If you want to buy one, www.tradecarview.com has 1000's of cars in all shapes and sizes for sale. (I'm not paid by them btw)
I imported an Alto Works around 3 years ago into the UK. There's nothing really different involved in owning it, once it's imported. However bare in mind that whilst they are generally light and economic cars, the UK has no schemes to encourage the ownership of vehicles like this apart from paying little, to zero, road tax. They are easy and straight forward to insure, but don't expect "cheap" insurance, it'l be insured as a standard grey import car.
kawada666
How much is "grey import" insurance? Does it make it un-economical to own a car like this? I'm concidering getting a Nissan Stagea as my 2nd car when I'm 22/23 (17 now, getting a Cuore after I pass my tests). Should I get one of these cars or get a Rover 75 Estate v6 and turbocharge it? I like both cars and they're both quite uncommon.
Depends on your age and financial circumstances concerning the economics. But basically insurance companies tend to up the price a bit for import cars. This is normally due to them being left hand drive and or desirable to theft. An Alto is neither really, but you should expect slightly higher insurance rates purely because the car was never sold here. Essentially because "they can" seems to be the case with UK insurers. But so long as, like I mentioned, you're not "young" and it's not your first car etc it's not a severe increase in cost no. I own both a 97 UK market MX-5 and a 91 Japanese import MX-5 and the difference is fairly minimal, but the import is higher.
kawada666 Excellent to know, most Japanese cars I've come accross are LHD so they're perfect for the UK. It wouldn't be my first car, It'd be my 2nd or maybe 3rd car as a runabout. However, if the ins is too much there's probably no point and may aswell find a small turbo car sold in the UK. Good too know if I import a Stagea though! Thanks! How much difference do you pay between the MX5's?
thanks for another awesome video! every time i see they are posted i stop what i'm doing and buckle up and enjoy the ride :D
