This video made me stop caring about all these "golden ratios". I didn't even know who this man was before watching this video and even though he scored relatively lower than other celebs in this channel, this is the best looking face to my eyes. It all seems like nitpicking at this point. Thanks for saving me from this obsession.
Well, firstly, facial harmony doesn't measure your attractiveness. Facial harmony looks at your bone structure and your features and tries to see how everything on your face "gels" with each other. How attractive those "things" on your face actually appear to someone is a different matter. A facial harmony of 65 doesn't mean you are 6.5/10 in looks. You have to take into account how striking and unique the features on the face are as well. Features like sharp medial canthus, angular almond shaped eyes, vibrant eye color, brow density, hairline, hair density, jaw tapering, body fat etc. are also very important. It's pretty easy to see that Jon Hexum scores very well on all these aspects. Secondly, a harmony score of almost 80% is actually really good. It's just that there are supermodels with higher harmony who might be considered less attractive than Hexum. But that's mainly due to his very unique features. Near 80% harmony is still way above average. I don't think you'd consider jon hexum very attractive if he had 45-50% harmony. A person with 90% harmony won't necessarily be more attractive than a person with 80% harmony, however, you likely will not be considered very attractive with average harmony even if you had very striking features.
@neveda2e3e couldn't have said it better. Perfectly put. Harmony in most cases is a YES or NO factor. If you have low/averave harmony you won't be that attractive and if you have a high enough harmony, you'll be attractive. Once you cross the 75%-80% mark, better harmont ≠ more attractive. To the naked eye, both 80% harmong and 95% harmony will look attractive and the deciding factor will be how striking your features are. High Harmony means good looking But slightly 'higher' harmony doesnt necessarily mean better looking
Jon was absolutely beautiful. I always compare Henry Cavill to him but Jon is way more handsome. Plus his voice was so masculine and he's a Scorpio like myself
His eyes are .83 apart but don’t look close together, his eye spacing ratio is at 45.6% so good eye spacing. Could be that his eyes are wide and big. If you look at children they have big eyes relative to their head size but their chins are small. Could be that his masculine taller lower part compensates for his large childlike eyes thus creates a harmony. What do you think?
This Arch Angel is Gods gift to my eyes he definitely was one of Gods greatest creations, blessed with a heart of pure gold, unique stunning looks for all to admire. I gazzed into his magnificent mirrored eyes, that glistened through the windows to his beautiful soul. ❤
Jon-Erik is certainly one of the best looking males in my book, but if you don't know him, check out his voice. He's got a really deep and beautiful speaking voice. He had everything to become a huge star. Even 40 years later it's incredible he was taken from us so young. He would be 67 years old now.
Think you should analyze some faces using the circles of prominence, as the neo-classical cannons for facial proportions (in my opinion) don’t paint as clear as picture for how a face truly looks like on paper, or at least not as well as the eyes tbh. Other than that, love the videos as they are nice to think about and speculate.
Interesting thought. Might be tough to measure and also there is a lot more research on most of these measurements because they relate to the field of maxillofacial surgery, cephalometry, and general orthodontic practice and facial beauty. Stuff like facial convexity, nasofrontal angle, lip lines, and even frontal profile measurements about the eye spacing, lower third face proportion, etc. I have a ton of these studies linked on a tab on the google sheet. I'd argue the circles of prominence are not as nuanced as a combination of a lot of neoclassical facial proportions, not all of which are here but some like lower third facial proportion and lower lip being 1.618 times the upper lip or mouth being 1.618 times the nose width in women. These are not even really neoclassical proportions as those are quite flawed; for example, facial fifths or the nose being 1/5 of the face is actually not attractive at all and it should be more like 3-4 times fitting in the face. So this is a more researched, and pracitced way of applying neoclassical facial proportions whereas those were just unfounded and based in speculation of arbitrary beauty standards. I have actually went ahead and analyzed a lot of attractive faces and it seems to be the case that an ESR near 46% is most attractive. I typed rapidly so hopefully that makes sense
But in short this method is not perfect either just something fun to play around with. I may see how I can incorporate that; I will have to read up on it
Please make a video on the "ideal male cheekbones". Are they more on the flatter side? or are extremely prominent and create huge ogee curves? I really want to know all about the ideal male cheekbones.
Under any system of scrutiny you want to use, Jon Erik Hexum may be the best looking actor of all time. If not he's on a short list. He makes Brad Pitt look like a hocked up hairball. Like a Norse God. Or Greek. Take your pick. Incredible looks. And I don't go around looking at guys all day.
Hahaha, I could see this. I have only discovered Jon-Erik Hexum recently. And it's interesting because I knew a guy that looked like him and also knew a guy that looked like David Gandy. And then I also knew a guy, that I think looked like a combination of them. Although I don't know that, I thought the 3rd guy looked much like Henry Cavill. Interesting though, because I also, only discovered David Gandy 2 years ago. Funny how I'd not known of the originals, but I met there doppelgangers, I guess their copycats! IF there's a pattern then I guess I'm due to meet Henry Cavil's! L😂L, The Lucky Cat I am! 😻
lowest point of the brow, but that usually is the inner corner. I suppose if the outer brow corner is droopy then in that case still take it at the inner corner even if it is not the lowest. So overall, always near the inner part of the brows
In a further comment, one other channel did a video called "Why is Jon Erik Hexum so good looking?" He analyzed his facial characteristics on a scale of 1 to 10. His worst trait was graded at a 9.3!! Of course, he graded overall as a perfect 10. If there was a 1 to 12 scale, he would win that one, too. For complete validation of this starement, watch Hexum's appearance on the Merv Griffin show, just before his tragic death. He was simply a physically stunning man. I feel a closer kinship to him than most fans because he attended my hometown school, Michigan State University. He was even a disc jockey during college to help pay the bills. This is not a literal "man crush" on Jon Erik Hexum. Just one guy appreciating another mans physical attributes. Jon Erik Hexum may have had more attributes to appreciate than any man ever to appear before a camera.
After watching this, I'm definitely not focused on a person's "Golden Ratio" or any ration. As beautiful as I think he is physically, I don't care what he scored for his ratios! This to me is equal to thinking "Someone" looks perfect on paper 📃 but in person and getting to know each other, the REST isn't there, something is OFF. Beauty to me will always be in the eye of the beholder. I don't really think Most people are that attractive. And don't find very men so, he's one of the exceptions. Not that good looks are the be all and end all,( If it were so, there wouldn't be not so Attractive people with Mates and man would have died out) just that you're attracted to the person, and the person's looks will be the initial spark, but after that it goes downhill or uphill. I've found it rare that the really attractive guys haven't been egotistical and jerks. Only know a few in my lifetime that weren't, but the connection and compatibility was lacking. Jon-Erik Hexum seems like he was one of those RARE Exceptions. All the interviews I watched he sounded very intelligent, down to earth and humble. Pethaps the fame,$, power, women would have changed him so, since he was just beginning. Yet, it appeared he came such humble beginning, and that's the Kind that don't forget their roots. And it's not everyman that chooses to become an organ donor making such a selfless act. He was a Super Attractive Man to Me. So this seems like too much preciseness, so I don't care. He was a beautiful Man to me. This guy calls his eyes droopy , lol I call them purr-fect "puppy dog eyes". 🐶I think his blue Eyes are Perfect t👀. I'd be attracted to his 78% Harmony Score. I think this was interesting, but won't let the Science of Beauty be a hangup for me. Never let it decide for your heart and soul who's perfect to you. 😻 I think he was the Cat's Meow, and it's just such a tragedy his life ended so soon .💙
Is it me or is Jon Erik-Hexum the Henry Cavill if the 80's? He's gorgeous. Better looking than Henry Cavill in my opinion. They have the same dero voice too I was 14 when I was wstch Cover-up in tv and heartbroken when he accidentally died. He was my huge crush. He was the reason I knew I was gay
I think you should re-adjust your methodology if a subjectively near flawless face scored rather low. In particular: you shouldn't consider large lower thirds in men a flaw, if they're otherwise perfect. Eye tilt is also extremely overrated, because it's barely perceptible unless it's above 3-4 degrees in either direction.
Please also consider this random guy from Pakistan who claims to have changed his face through mewing but I suspect plastic surgery involvement, his name is "Salludon". You'd definitely find him interesting, he actually has a striking face after all his surgeries, he resembles David Gandy
Yes i have heard of him and I would love to analyze as many faces as possible of all ethnic groups. The only issue is I could not use this caucasian formula to apply a score to any other ethnic group because it would result in an unfairly low rating; the same thing would happen if I applied say, West African averages to a caucasian sample. So I we'll see how I overcome that obstacle
@@creatingattractive Won't be a problem, almost all of Salludon's facial ratios are Caucasian skull ratios. There was some random guy who analysed his side and front and concluded that he has the perfect forward growth and his harmony is near flawless. I asked you because you seem unbiased while analysing faces and the person who analysed his face was probably a fan or a friend which might lead to a personal bias. Another reason is that you've been really debunking a lot of myths regarding eye spacing in men, the mid-face ratio in men, the nose to mouth ratio, the ideal jaw in men etc. Can you also please conclude whether Salludon has had surgery? It would really be an eye-opener for people who are blindly following him.
Ideal erkek .az konuşan. Çok dinleyen .uzun boylu . This is an absolutely silly analysis. When you talk about his flaws, who was better looking? ABSOLUTELY NOBODY!! Picking holes in this paragon is like finding a flaw in a statue by Michelangelo. There aren't any. I would be interested in future analyses to see a critique of Cary Grant or Tyrone Power. The handsomest matinee idols of their time. Perhaps of all time. Incredibly, in most top ten lists these two aren't at the top. HOW? Power's biographer Fred Guise in his book "The Last Idol," referred to him as "Almost too good looking to be true." Watch any footage of Tyrone Power and you'll understand why. Jon Erik Hexum fits as neatly into this category as Cinderellas glass slipper
Chill out he didnt say Jon was unattractive These are just facial ratios which only matter as much as if its high enough. 80% is way more than enough A guy with 80% harmony and insane dimorphic features and bone structure like Jon Erik Hexum would be far more attractive even objectively than a 90% harmony guy with no striking features. Jon is still one of the two highest objectively rated men
