Very nice review Kenny. Looks like it was maybe a 2 hour job at most....great quick mod to get the best feel from your trans. just make sure you have something to cover that billet knob with when you have it parked in the sun for any length of time! lol!!!

Put a tick shifter in my c5 zo6,, like it for the most part,, reverse is almost impossible to get it in gear..come across this problem?

Nice short throw shifter. I just got to mention my friend your interior is like brand new. most of the 93 - 02 the dash board cracks. My 94 project trans am is in need of a complete dash replacement. I'm going to be ordering a used complete dash. Mine is cracked all over. Hawks Motorsports has dashboards that are in pretty good shape. So after my car is back from the paint shop I can order my dashboard. I've got the front windshield out so my painter can paint the ttop roof jams . Nice video my friend 👍🤙

I just came across this video because I'm gonna change my shifter , I was wondering what is your steering wheel setup.

wonder if I could slide a b-body like your trans am lol. I got a t56 and 4.10s in it but it's stock power to which I assume I'd need a lot more to slide easily. And I guess all the suspension dialing in is also there.

I always run MGW mainly for the minimal vibration. The Tick sounds good for a better "feel", but how is the comfort/vibration over the MGW?
Shifter is very comfortable with little to no vibration 👍🏼

Back in 97 I ran the B&M Ripper in my LT1 Z28. How does this one differ, aside from color?
With this one, the shifts feel so solid so you never have to wonder if it went into gear fully or if you put it in the wrong gear.
How is it compared to the mgw? Just put a mgw in my car.
I wonder the same thing. It seems like a sponsored review, i dont think you would get an honest answer. I have bought the tick shifter and i like it. My one gripe with it is its really far over to the passenger side which feels a little weird, but im sure i could get used to it. I dont like it going into reverse. It smacks my console over maybe 1/2 an inch to guarantee hitting reverse. Those reasons almost makes me reconsider getting the MGW.

Honestly the shifts are more direct and the centering springs are stiffer which make shifting to third more effortless. With my MGW I would occasionally miss 3rd gear under heavy throttle and with the Tick I haven’t had any issues
how did you keep dirt from going in the shifter assembly ? did you modify the boot?

Just ordered this..only thing I don’t like about the short throws are the clunky engagements..too lazy to do the detent mod lol. I’ve had the factory hurst and a short stick forever. I like the hurst but my centering spring is gone..would occasionally hit the gate 2-3 and 6-3 shifts would go right into 5th lol. Excited for this, definitely gonna do the detent mod with this one. Glad I can keep my factory hurst handle, I really like how that feels in my hand. Love that 2step main rev limiter by the way, sounds SICKK on the spark cut 👍

Why the change from mgw? Does it feel any better?
Yeah honestly the shifts feel more precise and 2nd to 3rd is effortless with the stiffer centering springs.
I have always thought mgw was the stiffest. So the tick is even stiffer?

How does it feel over the mgw? I’ve had an mgw for years and was gonna transfer it over to my new trans but I just saw tick has their own shifter.
LsxMatt I would miss 3rd gear occasionally with the MGW. The centering springs in the Tick shifter are noticeably stiffer/stronger, which makes grabbing 3rd effortless and I haven’t missed a gear.
Love the machined channel on the lever itself. I had a lous short stick on a pro 5.0 for years and even with the lock washers one of the bolts backed out over time and I almost put my fist through the dash on a 2-3 shift.
I have a 2001 ss slp camaro and sometimes it doesn't want to go into gear what do you think may be the problem
It can be a number of things. I would give Tick Performance a call and see what they can do for you.

What clutch and slave cylinder are you running?
So this has a shorter throw than the MGW and Hurst short throw shifters? I have a Hurst on my 99 Camaro and it feels pretty short.
It has a slightly shorter throw but what sets this shifter above the rest are the stiffer centering springs, which make the shifts more precise and crisp which help eliminate miss shifts

Yeah it definitely has the strongest springs out of all the shifters I’ve used. The shifts feel so solid, especially 2nd to 3rd.
