  • Jumping Gemini, one of my favorite effects to perform, especially for kids. After the first phase they invariably shout: "they're all two of hearts!", which is perfect.
    Note: I am a beginner, have only been doing this for about four months, but as part of my job I get to perform magic for audiences every day. Therefore I would appreciate very much suggestions on how to improve, so that I can put on the best show possible.
    Thanks for watching!

    DAMN! I just watched a tutorial for this, then practiced for like a day until I had it down pretty good...then watched this video and realized how much better it could be. Incredible skill, every lift seems exactly the same; they're almost tosses. So smooth. Thanks for posting.

    He was there and he showed me the jumping gemini and some other tricks AND HE PERFORMED THEM PERFECT!!!
    I talked to him and asked how many deck of cards he use each yeah!
    and he answerd 500!!!
    He also train 6 hours a day!
    He also used my deck of cards, for some tricks and after he signed the deck!

    I think its more fun to show the last two Jokers at the same time and just lay 'm open to see. Makes it even more asumeable that the cards are in fact 4 Jokers.

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 14 lety +1

    @orozcormanuel Right, 'cause everybody knows that when they go to the bottom, cards magically change to jokers? I'm not trying to hide that the cards come from the bottom, that's what it is supposed to look like.

    Hey,
    hahah I think every magician does that when they look back at when they were a beginner.
    Yeah I guess that was a little confusing but what I meant was that compared to most other peoples versions of Jumping Gemini, the "bit" or parts in the middle were more true to the original trick that you performed. Hope that helps.
    Oh and sorry it took so long to reply to the post.
    And don't listen to the guy above, even if it was an earlier performance it was well executed.

    Your lifts are quite amazing. Mine often look a little weird, and are therefore not as convincing... I guess it's an innate ability, because I've been doing magic for about a year now and still my lifts kind of suck.

  • @learningstudio3141
    @learningstudio3141 Před 13 lety

    @Lopplt I'm not sure... I haven't tried it, but I think there is a risk in a discrepancy in procedure: why leave only two of the four cards face up? What's different about those two?

  • @LuigiAnzivino

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 17 lety

    That's a pretty good "sugjusttion", although I like mine with a little more worcestershire sauce. :)
    May I suggest that it is both less violent and more economical to just drag the volume slider all the way to the left?

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 17 lety

    I think you're referring to the Ace, which in Roy Raphaeli's version was a 10. To me, doing it with a little "jump" calls attention to the fact that you're doing something weird. The audience might not catch what you did, but they know you did something. On video you can catch a lot of stuff that you normally wouldn't, and I found that the way I do it is never actually caught by the audience, if done swiftly and on the offbeat. Just a matter of preference, really. ;)

    Thanks for the feedback. This was posted more than a year ago (hard to believe); in the intervening time, my technique got better... Sometimes I watch some of my older videos and cringe a little bit. What bit in the middle?

  • @koldtoft
    @koldtoft Před 16 lety

    Good preformance.. Good lifts :)
    You are using rommy cards and not poker cards right?
    They look a little slim to me, and I think they are the best kind of cards for this trick... At least I think you need to keep a tighter grib on poker cards as they are a bit wider and harder to flip over without sliding apart.
    Anyway nice preformance, sweet tunes..

  • @DaveKomaromi
    @DaveKomaromi Před 11 lety

    Is this your own effect? It was completely invisible to detect, but I know the moves to do it. There is absolutely nothing I would change about it, your performance was superb. But, as I know how, and without revealing, I am asking your permission to have a go at doing this myself. I wouldn't perform it as it is a hobby not a profession and would only be for my wife and kids amusement. :-)

  • @asaffin1
    @asaffin1 Před 16 lety

    Sorry to bother you once again, but regarding the move near the end where you show all four cards as being the ace (second time, after the DLs and TLs), do you know the name of it? I know how it's done, of course; I just wondered if it had a name.

  • @koldtoft
    @koldtoft Před 16 lety

    Ohhh Ps..
    One think I think you forgot or did not do, is that you should show the last 2 cards together or very close to eachother, as it is the only chance you really get to do it, and it gives a nice effect to see that you can show em like that as well..

  • @1Spyke23
    @1Spyke23 Před 16 lety

    This was well performed.
    In terms of technique it is the best I've seen on youtube.
    However, work on your lifts.
    They could be slowed down and be a bit smoother.
    I also like the little bit you added in the middle--its quite good.
    Keep it up.

  • @signoraw
    @signoraw Před 15 lety

    Hi!
    Press thumb and forefinger together and stick two cards just between the tips of these two fingers. Then they will not slip away since your fingers stick together. hth

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 17 lety

    Yeah, the gemini count was a little clunky. I was using Bycicles Master edition, which are a little stiffer than regular cards, making the sleight hard to perform smoothly (for me). However, I was under the impression that they should look like they're all coming from the bottom, so that is not a problem in my opinion. Still doesn't explain how they're all four jokers after they've been two of heart and ace of spades... :)

  • @Lopplt
    @Lopplt Před 13 lety

    @learningstudio I get what you're coming. But the thing is: you keep showing 1 of the others at the time. If you show 2 Jokers at the same time it makes it'll amaze the audience even more and make them more likely to believe there are in fact 4 Jokers. Should always try to make the finishing move a bit different,

  • @awkwardmagic
    @awkwardmagic Před 13 lety

    @orozcormanuel I do this trick and if you think that you can figure it out just because you feel he revealed by grabbing from the bottom, you know very little about magic. There are quite a few moves in this trick. To make it look as good as this you need to practice it many times. This was a great performance. And I know how it's done!

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 16 lety

    :D. It's much easier to slide the volume control to the left. It's right up there, next to the time of the video.

    @WeAreFuturistic I'm not sure... It used to be Mano Negra's "Magic Dice", but then the copyright hellhounds complained, and I changed it to something royalties-free... And now people complain about the cheesy smooth jazz! You just can't make everyone happy, now, can you? ;)

    Hi peeps

  • @LuigiAnzivino
    @LuigiAnzivino  Před 17 lety

    It's relatively easy, actually. All you have to do is find the most comfortable chair in the house, sit down, and spend seven days and seven nights with a deck of cards in front of you repeating this mantra: "vernonelmsleyhofzingerdonotrevealsecrets". Eat nothing but microwaved ramen noodles. After the seventh night a one-armed dwarf will appear to you in a vision, giving you the method via an interpretative dance. ;)
    Sorry...
