Beautiful Guyana the people the land the atmosphere wonderful just lovely and still is thank you for this video
Beautiful video that shows a little of the old British Guiana.
It seems like Guyana was much cleaner when they were under the British.
delrio less people george town was much cleaner back in 1960 went to write a common entrance exam and went to watch test cricket at bourda endland vs the west indies saw the two great west indian batman sobers and kanhai batted also two of the world best bowlers truman and statham and other great players bud from nyc
The only recognizable building was Stabroek Market. Hotel Tower was another recognizable name but it sure looked ramshackle.
My grandmother was born in 1922 she must have seen these same sites
Same year as my grandpa x
Depends on where she lived. People who lived in Georgetown rarely saw the interior. There was not the easy means of travel we have today.
Most people wouldn't see these things. It's very much a tourist video.
I questioned it once I saw mountains in the background. I’m thinking Trinidad and Tobago
hey wat bout the mountains?
Where is the sound?
Wow my Grandfather was 17 and my Grandmother was 10 at that time.
life... life... life.... I just think about how tough times were... and still is. Why?
Sorry but it is British Guiana I was 5 years of age when this was filmed
No sound
This is not British Guiana, might be Trinidad and Tobago. There is no Indian village with mountains in the background in Guyana (British Guiana). See at 3:47. From 9:55 details scenes in Guyana (then British Guiana)
Exactly. The mountains are a dead giveaway.
Some parts are Guyana.
@@lynnetteagard7828 What are you talking about🤦🏾♀️ Guyana got interiors, not just mountains, and different regions of the landscape with many sceneries it's big and it's not Trinidad and Tobago being shown Guyana was beautiful back then that's how it looked back then
This is British Guiana. Rest yuh self.
Sorry but that is not Guyana I know my county very well and it is not my Dear Land f Guyana
got you sis...ty
Is it possible that you don't recognize it because it was before your time? Lapenitance is DEF Guyana.
Stabroek Market is still there, maybe you haven’t been to Georgetown, Lapenitence market is also in the video
That is British Guiana.
