Awesome video. TTWT is what we enjoy ... you do things ... discuss things ... go to places and it's filled with meaningful content. So keep doing what your being lead to do.
A lot of people have financed tractors in the past three years. We're going to see a lot of fire sales as people can't afford them any longer, the way the economy is currently going.
Good points to check with the dealer beforehand.
I do appreciate these videos that aren't project based. Better informed consumers benefits all of us in the long run.
I particularly like the accessorizing :)
Great content. Thanks. I too have notice a market shift but many on FB are still want to much for their tractor as they paid too much. Thanks again…
Tim, Thanks for the video. Information coming from someone who owns the equipment you do is much appreciated. You have had a couple of hard lessons and trying to help us from making the same ones.
Very helpful. Thanx for taking the time to do it & even illustrating w/ your own unfortunate experiences
I find these videos helpful. There are so many brands to choose from and options, that I feel it's difficult for the regular person to know where to start. The resources you have available compared to most makes these vids well worth the time.
I like this type of video especially from a trustworthy source as yerself. This saves lots of legwork of constantly shopping around and checking pricing trends. It's like a full service tractor channel on what equipment to buy or avoid along with savings codes. Etc. The list could go on and on. Variety is the spice of life.
A friend has got information on a “free tractor” in up state New York. Story is that a deceased farmer requested that the machine be given away to a deserving cause. You only need to pay for shipping. He got pictures via email of a Kubota 3 series with a loader. Shipping cost would be around $2,000. The lead came from a local John Deere dealership. He was encouraged to make up his mind quickly and pre pay for shipping. He didn’t fall for the scam.
There is no such think as a Kubota 3 Series LOL John Deere yes, Kubota No....🤣
@@SNeal5966 I don’t know model numbers, but the pictures was of a larger tractor with a cab.
Real easy to see if it's a scam. Just tell them you have the ability to transport it and watch them come up with an excuse.
Did he also have a warrant for his arrest that could be paid off in applebees gift cards?😂
@@CampzzyzxI'd like to talk to you about your tractor's extended warranty.
Great info and exactly what I've been looking. Timing was great. Thanks for sharing these kinds of episodes.
I appreciate the time & knowledge of this topic Tim! We're always looking for a "deal" right?! But your videos really help us to manage those "deals" with caution & that's appreciated for sure! 👍 Keep it up & Stay Safe!! 😊
I found this video to be very informative, Tim, and would find similar types of videos very helpful as well. We can all benefit from your experience, which most of your viewers probably lack.
Great information, Thank You for sharing and be safe!
Nice work Tim. As a tractor owner, I enjoy this info. It’s good to know the market climate with things that I have an interest in. After all, if I’m gasping at the price of a new tractor, I can also think…”Look how much mine is worth!” It keeps the dream alive😂. Blessings.
Tim
Very good video, and I like that you stressed the point again of the legalities of buying a product, whether it has been stolen or may have a lean.
I remember your video about the problem you had with the tractor you had bought at an auction, and at that time I was shocked. I had believed any auction would safe guard against such things, and have been extremely careful with any purchases I have made since then. Yes, it did save me once that I was over cautious, it seemed too good to be true, and shortly after I found out the person was charged with theft of that product. After that I have been even more cautious.
Just recently, not too far away a women bought a car from a residence. The gentleman passed away, and the vehicle was advertised on FB. She went, it was a good deal, bought it, they gave her the title, the next week, she was pulled over because of a problem with the plate and vehicle not matching. When the police ran the VIN, it had been stolen and they forged the transfer of the title, even sold it out of the deceased mans home. Of course she was shocked that anyone could possibly do that to anyone, and is having to defend herself in this as she is in possession of it. Luckily she has the texts, and FB messages of the transaction to cover her, but more than likely will never recoup the money she is out.
Great episode!
I recently bought a used 2025R (2021) and avoided the lien/repo issue by dealing directly with JD Financial for the payoff. All I needed was for the seller to inform JDF that I would be contacting them.
Good information Tim! 😁👍
*Keep on tractoring!*
Very good information. Appreciate your input after much experience and thought put into this video. Thanks for sharing!
Good Stuff Tim. Thanks for the info.
Very interesting how the market changes with supply / demand and the economy in general.
It's still important that a person research local dealers even when buying a tractor privately because the need for repairs and parts are still a reality.
Good stuff Mr. Tim!
Excellent useful information as usual.
I would be interested in hearing more about " what to look for in a used 1 series.
I don’t have a tractor yet but I do plan on purchasing one when I find some property. So, I enjoy hearing your insights. Thanks and God bless you and your family!
Where oh where is my 3420? I've enjoyed seeing you fix it up. All the joy without any fuss on my part. This relationship is great. Christy does a great job editing your eight hours of video into 20 minutes of pure gold. Great info. My 2025R with 200hrs is worth its weight. Only my seat and arm rests show signs of kept outside all the time.
Great stuff. Thanks, from a guy that needs a tractor soon and no clue where to start.
Great insight. I loved the information. Thank you
I love my 1025R. It's a 2016 with an H120 loader and a 60D mower deck. The 1025R is so easy to work on, and like you said, the engine and transmission is very reliable.
Excellent video Tim. I'm surprised at how much a 1025 new is going for now. And the prices that you showed for really low hour 1025s is a great deal for someone that wants that model. Keep up the good work.
Let’s get started . Happy Sunday
Great video, and sound advice. I was all set to buy new, package from either Deere or Mahindra. Am fortunate that am very close to three good dealers of Red/Green/ Orange. But I ended up buying from a private party, a 2019 Mahindra with 120 hours, loader, belly mower, titan forks, rotary cutter, post hole digger, tiller and seeder for 16K, all same age. The caveat was an electrical issue, that the owner got frustrated with his dealer on. Long story short the local dealer verified serial number, checked ownership through the dealer he had bought from, always check to your point Sir. Owner had Stored inside but found out through the dealer when this was new sat on the lot outside for an extended time… moisture had gotten in the loom. To your point, first time new to tractors should walk away labor at the dealer is ave 120/hr, but am fortunate with mechanical skills was able to diagnose and find the issue, corroded connections…a little rewire, GTG, great running little tractor. Little long story, but these types of videos are educational/entertaining and of value to folks like me, imo.
Thanks Tim for shaping.
Another great video. Thanks for all you do.
I moved up from a garden tractor to old Deere compact. I went older due to price and still availability of parts. Good information on buying used.
one thing I would check for sure, put the tractor on a level flat surface make sure the loader and 3 point make contact with the ground evenly, so you know it hasn't been twisted in one way or another, same for the axel spacing front to back, side to side and corner to corner basic alignment cause it is hard to know how forceful one may have used it or over loaded it, it is also much better if they have a service record for said machine, which honestly any owner should keep anyways
PLEASE make another in-depth video on used. I am not the only one in the market for for a green machine. Thanks Tim!
Thanks Tim, very helpful information
great info...makes me glad id bought mine back in 2020 after doing research for a couple of years, there is no way id buy a new one now, even the economy tractor prices are high and close to what id paid for mine with the loan...going used right now is the way to go...im also surprised to see the used ones not go up in price for the cost of times, think that just hurts the seller....
I got quoted $24,796 for a new 1025R with the 60” belly mower and the front loader from a local dealer. I’ve been on the fence if I should buy new or go used. Thanks for all the useful information.
22k for TLB in 2019. How much the prices have gone up!
A lot of good info here. Thank you.
Great information Tim thanks. I have a 1025R and can't believe the price of a new one 😮.
Great video, Tim!
Great info. Thank you.
Very useful and beneficial Thank you Tim...
I have bought 2 used john deere compact tractors. 3320 in 2017 and a cab 4520 in 2021. Best equipment I’ve ever purchased.
Thanks! It’s alway a good thing to know the current market.
I like the tractor purchasing advice. I'd like to see more. Thanks!
great segment sir. great advice. I've been thinking about upgrading my 1026R to a 2 series tractor. this was a very informative.
Good information Tim. Yes, the inflation and price increases of the last couple years on everything has been bonkers.
I retired a year ago after 17 years pushing Green and did a lot of what you talked about with customers looking at used equipment. Don't have to do it, but you are good to those who have been good to you. But there is quite a lot of information that can be learned as long as it's been run through the JD system. You can't know if some "Buddies with tools" worked on it, but most always, since they have nice warranties today, a customer is going to run it through their dealer.
Mostly I did this with ag equipment, but you will see every service summary and can dive deeper an find the service reports. This is where you see the who what where of it all. And the all important pip's and required or fix as failed warranty.
Owner history and geography - man, you can learn some amazing histories of equipment that make you scratch your head. I was tracing a tractor for a customer coming up at auction once. After mapping it out (google maps is amazing) I found it had been a professional auction tractor for the last 7 years and was rented out a few times putting only 300 hours on it in that time. Makes ya wonder, who lost their ass on that thing originally?
So, got a good relationship with your dealer? They can be of great help. But beware - it's scam city out there - and repo tractors are real! if it's too good to be true? it isn't HAHA!
Excellent information. Please continue with purchasing advise.
Very useful video. Yep want to see more!!!
Great video and informative
Thank you Tim,, this video (like alle the others ) is very instructive... and the way you explain and comment your stuff is just like you were talking to ME thank you for being my friend :)
Thanks for the kind words.
I always like the information that you have in these videos. Have you looked to see if there's a regional price difference? In Baldwin County, AL if the tractor runs it's more than likely an immediate $5K regardless of actual condition. The tractors that are usually in this category mostly come from the 60's or 70's.
I just bought a used Kioti. It's been running great. I found that Super Clean works great for bringing the plastic back to new condition.
Good job, give us all heads up.
I'm looking at to purchase a Kubota 2200 $5,500. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. 800 hours on it. Drove it for about 10 minutes, and everything seemed normal for the condition it was in. The only issue that I noticed the pedal seemed to stick a little bit. But other then that seemed pretty solid. No leaks or anything like that. Looks pretty clean not beat up. Going to have a more experienced guy take another look at it when I pick it up.
I also looked at a John Deere 650. Unfortunately, it looked like they spray painted the engine, the belt was frayed and painted green, the coolant resivor was Jerry rigged. Even though it looked and ran good there was little warning signs.
Enjoyed the video and the comments about possible issues with a private sale, ie; whether the tractor is stolen or has a lien on it, etc.... I was looking to buy a zero turn mower recently in a private sale when I ran into a possible scam. Too many things didn't add up and I smelled a scam, so that's when I started looking into a tractor like the 1025R. My brother had bought one several years ago and it made sense with all the things he could do with it besides mowing his yard and property. So, that's kind of where I'm looking now. Thanks for the advice and I'll be watching more of your videos.
We are working with cloudstore.co on a ‘reverse auction’ coming this April. Nearly new tractors (5 hours or less) will be listed, and the price dropped every 12 hours until they sell. Even the starting prices will be much lower than new price. …and the tractors have warranty remaining.
Watch our channel for more info.
Great content!
Thanks for doing this.
Very very helpful. Keep going with these informative articles
In Christ's name
The used market is starting to come back down to earth after the astronomical price increases that occurred during and after the pandemic. While the used market is coming back to earth, the new tractor market is still on a steady rise. What once was a $20k tractor is now costing $30-35k.
I’ll agree things have gone up, but they have not gone up that much
This was a great video!!!
Yes do that video
Great video. You can find great deals if you’re patient. I bought a 2017 1025R from a guy that lives about 8 miles from me in 2019 for 16500. It had 80 hours on it. We both use the same JD dealership as I have two other JD zero turns. I was able to talk to them and get all the service records. It came with the loader, 60 inch deck and 54 inch quick hitch snowblower. I could never afford new and I got a great loan from my bank. If you take your time you can find a good deal.
I like your very informative videos, thank you very much
Awesome job works love to see how to buy used.
I'm also going to chime in - would love to see a video more in-depth on used 1-Series shopping. Thanks, Tim!
Good info 👍
Working at a john deere dealer I will say the 2023 1025r has a large amount of improvements though such as a lever style park brake factory led headlights single point hydraulic hookup for loader
I thought this was interesting and helpful. Thanks for posting it!
Good information to help others to make informed decisions on a tractor at a good price
I bought mine in April of 2020. 2019 model 1025r TLB with a 120r loader, 260b backhoe, ballast box, 54d auto connect belly mower. Also a stihl br450 backpack blower and a stihl 94fs line trimmer. Total cost $25403.90
No problem with the content today. I think something you could add is that the buyer should be comfortable with the amount of work they will need to do. I bought a project tractor, Kubota BX 1500, that needed major repairs with the engine. Half of the engine was missing. No parts, just a lower end and that's it. It did come with a mower deck, but no loader. So, I thought about what I would use it for, and how much my skill level would match the project. It was a little stretch, but today it's running with a new-used engine and I'm working on putting it back to better than it was originally. I'm adding hydraulics to use a snowblower and sweeper\thatcher.
It's what I want it to be. I have spent a fair amount of money, but I don't think I've exceeded the value in usefulness. I remember this guy on the internet who bought a little tractor and said it was just right for those little jobs where big tractors just wouldn't fit. I have two larger tractors, and they both have their jobs to do, but this tractor just fits. 😉 God Bless and keep doing what you do.
I find it very interesting on what the market is doing. Great job Tim thanks.
Tim great advice, got lucky once 9 years ago with a used no big name tractor now I'm ready to upgrade to bigger and better but its a scary process, not just with the new Vs used, auctions Vs facebook, but all of the makes and models not to mention where they are made but parts and dealer support or lack of. New is a pipe dream as I'm retried on a fixed income but a dependable reliable tractor with accessories will make my remaining golden years more fruitful.
Another great video! Yes I would be interested in more information on buying used tractors. Thank you
Great information. My son bought a used car a few years ago. Yep. Ended up with a lien on it. Nasty time with that.
Love these videos! Keep them coming! On another note, what ever happened to that PTO generator you showcased several months ago? Thought it ended with another vid of the operation? Would love to see that!!
Haven’t got around to it! Need to do some electrical work on house to prepare!
Solid information!
An informative episode Tim!
Absolutely would like to see the video Tim
Great video 👍
Great video TIm, I swear we have some sort of ESP. I just bought a used 2021 OOS 3039R, price was just to good to pass up.
Still under warranty, and only 60 hours on it. Still looks new. Got for $13-14k off a like spec new 2023.
For sure some good deals to be had out there.
Great deal!
Just purchased 1025 in april tractor,loader w/bucket
&forks,backhoe,48"tiller,60"deck and jd quick hitch 38k out the door
Very helpful . Looking to purchase a compact tractor. Thanks for the advice.
Check out our upcoming ‘Reverse Auction’ starting April 2 at cloudstore.co
I’ve been noticing some good deals recently on very capable tractors. For example a used 2019 Yanmar YT359 ROPS with 500hrs for $27K still with 6 years of power train warranty left. That’s a 60hp premium tractor for less than a new 1025R. Also saw a 2020 Kioti DK5310SE Cab with 200hrs and a 6ft mower for $32K. You’re right the used tractor market has leveled off. Might go used for my next tractor if buying new continues to be so expensive.
I gave up on john deere, and went to the bobcat 2025 with loader 16900 new.
Great video! I say keep these kinds of videos coming, Tim… here in the southern WV/southwestern VA area, I see prices of used late model utility tractors (40-99 hp) holding up towards higher levels. On a side note, I went to my local dealer last week to price a new 75 engine hp utility cab tractor. I was finally able to get a “ballpark” figure from the salesperson. Ok, well enough but the salesperson never offered to leave his computer screen or his desk to actually show me the tractor (two on the lot just outside the door). Not much enthusiasm or sales craft was my impression. Are new tractor sales so hot that sales folk don’t have to try too hard?
That's part of it. They are very seasonal as people get into harvest season it is hard to get help. Was it kubota? They expect them to sell themselves Ive noticed.
OK what was ballpark on 75 HP John Deere?
I found this informative.
Just a update on my previous comment. I ended up purchasing that Kubota BX2200. Had another guy that sells farm tractors take another look before I got it and he said it was one of the best used Kubota that's he's seen for the age it was in. Just have to keep up on the regular Maintenance and fix little things. But for 20 years old is in good fair condition.
Tim, your used videos of what to look for, auctions, as well just the general videos gave me a really good understanding what and not what to look for when buying a used tractor.
Congratulations! Thanks for the kind words!
@TractorTimewithTim you're welcome!
I bought a low hour tractor and got a pretty good deal. I got a loader and a deck with it.
Tim did his friend a solid 😅
Great video, more information is always a plus for your channel!!???😊🙏🙏👍✌️🍔🍔🍔🍔
New is out the window here in ireland john deere for the 1 series is nearly 40k it used to be mid 20s but cars vans and jeeps the prices are gone nuts to
I think any information you present in reference to a used tractor would be appreciated and can be used across many tractors.
Tim, I do find videos like this informative as many viewers do. I had started out with a JD 2210 bought new, but then decided to upgrade to a 4415, and to say they are reliable tractors. I have used tractor zoom to look up not only compact tractors, but a farm tractor as well. Great content for someone, who is looking for a tractor especially a John Deere.
I purchased a new 1025R in the summer of 2021 and thanks to your channel and another popular Chanel I have accessorized it with several of your recommendations. I am impressed with a couple upgrades on the 2023 model mainly the hand brake and the addition of the single point hydraulic connector on the 120 loader. Just for grins I configured a new tractor and was appalled by the almost $8000 price increase in just a couple of years. Yeah, used is definitely the way to go and I might just add the single point hydraulic connector myself.
We will have a 6 port single point connector from DiscountHydraulicHose in just a few weeks.
@@TractorTimewithTim will they also have a 4 port?
@@jimschmitz6192 no. 4 port from Deere only. Of course the 6 port can be used as a 4 port.
Would need 6 port for grapple.
Great info. Surprised by the range of prices out there on the new side. Advertised price on a local new 1025R with loader and 60" mmm here in Illinois is $21,249.
That may be a left over ‘22 model.
@@TractorTimewithTim That could be. Any recent model year changes to the small series tractors?
I just got a 2025R with FEL, iMatch, loaded tires and a Frontier rototiller with tax for 25k!
I think there's 1 detail you make you have over look. Buying new and trading in for different equipment or larger tractor, you can get a great trade-in. Thanks for sharing the video. I'm happy with the new. But to buy larger units, I'm thinking about used
In my area of the country used are still very hard to find hence that is why 2 years ago I bought a new 4052R and I love it
2 yrs ago was totally different market. Drastic changes to today.
Good job
