Great night for SAFC - Shearer missing the penalty the highlight along with Quinny's header & Hutch's calm finish. I must add though that Sir Bobby Robson was a genuine class act & loved & respected on both sides of the North East. Always had a lot of respect for Keegan too.
I had a broken leg at the time and was moving house (or getting people to move house for me) the day of this match. Was listening to it on the radio. Fantastic result - even Shearer's biggest fans would have to agree that Quinn goal is a thing of beauty.
I could watch this a million times over. Few things stand out for me.. Kick off. Shearer laughing and joking. Gray...mind focused on the job. Will mickey ever deliver a better cross? The fans faces when shearer misses the pen. Hutchinsons celebration. Quinny bossing their centre backs. Brilliant
