Evan Haines, is by far- the most underrated local musician, it’s not even close. He amazes me every time I see him play and he’s been just phenomenal in every group or solo run he’s taken on over the years. The Sarahtonen disc is one of the best to come out of this city and his solo stuff like ‘Dory’ and the unreleased ‘Porno Kisses’ are just …SO DAMN GOOD in ways that are hard to explain. His style is hard to explain. But what he does works so well. Dude can write lyrics too….Plus, he’s just an interesting guy- always thinking, always discussing music and music theory and insane moments in music history- guy knows his stuff - I dunno, I love sitting with him over a beer. Just a fascinating dude lol. We’ve even tried to get a few projects going together that didn’t pan out, but were legit great ideas. Maybe one day we’ll make it happen.
This was the last time we turned the studio into a bar for a St Patrick’s Day Episode and I was happy it was him and this was also the last time he was ever on the show. Which is not happy.
Anyway, one hour of Evan Haines, doing what he does best -entertaining you in his unique and complicated way.
