yeah i kinda see marshmello's incorporation on every song but it's definitely subtle and sometimes stunts the song. i'd prob have to go with the baw collab as my favorite cause i love how they blended their styles in the initial drop. ep's out on spotify now btw

For a free Riddim ep on his soundcloud I thought it was kinda neat as a concept, but definitely needs polishing up on the mixing front. Loved seeing all the collabs he did on it though!

honestly this EP feels like a bit of a charity act from Marshmello to provide exposure using his huge audience which is by no means a bad thing

Feel it's the opposite - He was kinda becoming irrelevant in the mainstream audience so he turned to a genre that has diehard fans and a somewhat declining popularity (by no means am i saying Riddim and Dubstep aren't popular, it's just he would probably be murdered by the dnb crowd)
tldr; the easiest genre to jump into at the moment without fans completely trying to trash you for "jumping on the bandwagon"

Man, no matter how much people describes to me how to master properly or the clipping i still can't fully understand it, even with practise.. maybe im this dumb but somehow i can hear when someone got unintentional clipping or when they did it as a stylistic choice.
For me, this EP might shows his funtime playing around with Riddim / Dubstep genre, in general, but yeah, mixdown...
Also agreed on DEVASTATE, he is actually able to do it seriously, but so much, like, so much things that he need to polish and fix.
Overall, this EP is surprising, but not that big.
Favorite is T34RS.

Its a pretty decent EP imo. Especially since marshmello is pretty much just dipping his toes into riddim it seems like lmao. Would be way better if mixed properly. And i personally believe once marshmello gets some more knowledge on this genre, hed be pretty good

For me it is one of the best things ever created and I could listen to it all day.
I think you can compare it to black metal or slam death metal. Even if it’s not necessarily clean, it has a certain character to it that makes the genre
This ep was good, but certainly could have been better. As a producer I'm listening to every detail in the song and I mostly agree with Code. Mellofire was my favorite one though

Feels like marshmello has "phases" that are prob related to what the marketing team wants. Last year he released almost 100% latin/pop music. This year he's releasing dubstep and riddim. Feels like it's just a marketing tactic to get the interest of every consumer out there. Feels kinda cheap and predatory imo
