- In this knitting machine sweater tutorial, I show you my tips and tricks on using the Sentro 48 pin knitting machine to create panels. I also show you how to put these panels together to create an off shoulder sweater. This sweater consists of six panels seamed together. Also I think I forgot to mention at the very end, but weave in your ends!!!
Front/ Back Panels : 41 pins by 80 rows
Sleeve Panels : 35 pins by 84 rows
Off Shoulder Panels : 45 pins by 36 rows
** PRO TIP: make a tension square ! I didn't the first time I made this sweater which is why it came out so long and thneed like in that clip at the beginning of the video. This was my second time making the sweater, but honestly this was a really easy and quick (I finished in a day!) knitting machine project!
** A note on sizing : Always measure on yourself as you go and adjust pin / row amounts to your liking. 45 pins is the maximum stitch amount on a 48 pin knitting machine. If you need more room, I suggest creating additional panels, and seaming them together using the slip stitch seam technique.

just a note for anyone who’s making this top, doing a single crochet instead of a slip stitch to finish your panel helps keep a lot more stretch!
Great tip!
A tip to make removing cast on edge waste yarn easier, is to do 1 extra row in a separate waste yarn after the main waste yarn and before starting your project yarn. Join the separate waste yarn at the end of the row, not the start of the row so you can join the project yarn at the start of the row. To remove the cast on waste yarn when knitting is off the machine, pull a loop of the 1 row waste yarn from the centre of the row so that the ends come through the knitting. Once pulled through and out of the knitting, the waste yarn just comes off without having to fiddle about. Lovely top and well done.
You are the only one who shows everything up close i had been trying to figure out how to do the crochet stitch and was stuck😭. Thank you so much!
omg this came on my explore page, i’ve been wanting to make an off the shoulder top with my knitting machine so this is perfect!!! Thank u
I love this so much, this tutorial is amazing, def making one 🤩
Thank you so much for this beginner friendly tutorial ! This was so easy for me to make 😇😊
I loved your work 🙏🏽 I'm still learning how to make blouses and tops in crochet and tricot, but ur video helped me a lot! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Love this!
Really cute!!!
so helpful!! thank you!!!
Informative, thank you!

Yay!! We can all b knitting / crocheting hotties together 💜 💜
I just picked up the blue version on the sentro machine and I cant wait for it to come. I've seen so many others use it to make pretty much anything with it and this sweater is super cute. Maybe add the pink trim to the bottom as well? Thank you for the video ☺️
There's a blue version ?? I gotta look that up now! Pink on the bottom is a super cute idea thanks for watching ! 💜💜
@@yaejiyea yes, the blue version is under a different name but it's the same as the sentro. Zebyate?..., I believe is what I got.
👍
Hi quick question why do you skip every other one ? I’m new and just learning lol
heyy ! i love this tutorial, and wanted to know if i could use the same process to make a dress? if yes how would i go about doing so ?
thankyou
I was thinking the same thing, I think all you will need to change is the length of the 2 front panels. Basically make them the length of of your body, the rest should be fine you wont need to change the sleeves :) hope this helps
Does anyone know a similar pattern using crochet or knitting needles?
Can I ask how many millimeters of wool you use?
Hi lovely! Just a q as I'm thinking of getting a sentro. Is it possible to create more fitted garments e.g. with smaller waist and larger bust? Or can you only really control that with the type of yarn you use? Thanks!
You can increase and decrease on the machine (it is a little finicky, I'm still perfecting it myself), so I think more fitted garments are a definite possibility !
i really felt that intro sigh to my core lmao
lmfao it really was a struggle
approximately how many yards of yarn would this use?
So cute, how much yarn did it take to make?
Thank you !! 💜💜 I used just under 2 hanks of the Berroco Vintage dk yarn. Around 200 g / 576 yd !
i’m very confused about the first part, since we’re using tube setting how can i use only these hooks? and also i didn’t understand how to do it exactly because the first part was skipped :( so sad i can’t make this
as soon as i go backwards after the skipped part of the video, my whole piece falls apart
is it okay to wash and block after you seam the panels together?
Yes ! Just make sure it fits you, and make sure not to wring the garment otherwise it will stretch
What is your clothing size? XS?
This is so cute and I want to make one, how much yarn did it take?

@@yaejiyea ahh okay, tysm!!💓
How to I change from the waste yarn to the project yarn
Unhook the waste yarn and put it in the middle space of the machine. Then leave yourself ~6-8 inches of project yarn out and hook it under the first pin and put it on the yarn holder / tension and once everything is hooked on you can just crank as normal !
Ive been curious abt how to make this with the sentro and watching ur totorial my conclusion kind of is that u could just make the body panel longer and attach the sleeves 30 stitches down from the top, anybody have any thoughts on if thats stupid or what cause this isnt making sense to me😭
Hmm I think that would only work if you are small enough to fit that size. I created an additional off shoulder panel to go over my whole body circumference, if that makes sense?
how would i make this in a xxl size ?
I made arms using the tubing method, 2 panels for the front and back and just seamed them together! then I stitched the front and back to where I wanted it to fit on my shoulders and made the offshoulder bit in 3 panels to fit! it is really annoying putting all the panels together and you can see the seams.
Could I do this with a 40pin?
Nvm I brought a 48pin just so I can do this😭
do i have to wet and block my work??
I definitely recommend it! After making these garments, I hand wash them, dry with a towel, and lay flat to dry.
What yarn do your use!???!
This is the berroco Vintage dk yarn ! One of my faves 💖
im a size 8 uk and these measurments were wayy to small for me, the size of her jumper is probably 2/4 uk
good tutorial tho
my front and back panels: 39 pins and 76 rows
what size are you generally?
How did you get a panel if you used the tube selection?
Just don’t go all the way around go backwards x
Thank you. I haven't used my machine except for a test swatch.
