GoPro: Red Bull Stratos - The Full Story

- čas přidán 30. 01. 2014
- October 14, 2012, Felix Baumgartner ascended more than 24 miles above Earth's surface to the edge of space in a stratospheric balloon. Millions across the globe watched as he opened the door of the capsule, stepped off the platform, and broke the speed of sound while free falling safely back to Earth. Felix set three world records that day-and inspired us all to reach beyond the limits of our own realities, and reimagine our potential to achieve the incredible.
GoPro was honored to be a part of this epic achievement, with seven HERO2 cameras documenting every moment. From the airless freeze of outer space, to the record-breaking free fall and momentous return to ground-see it all through Felix's eyes as captured by GoPro, and experience this incredible mission like never before. No one gets you closer than this.
Shot 100% on the HD HERO2® camera from GoPro.com.

"Sometimes you have to go up really high to understand how small you are." - Felix Baumgartner
I saw that part of the video, too!
***** what's fake in this video?
Dude... I understand that totally....
I see the earth down daily when m high..
You can keep poisoning kids all you want, Red Bull. But please stop pretending to be some sort of cultural icon, it's disgusting.
Wait I do a small correction: "Sometimes you have to go up really high to understand how small you are." - Snoop Dog
This is probably one of the best videos on CZcams to date.

Cant believe 11 years have gone by so quickly since I sat here at the edge of my seat, watching Felix base jump from the edge of space, plummeting + hurtling down to earth like a meteor. I think my heart rate must have equaled his back then, as it did just now so many years later.
It is so amazing to see this again after such a long time; I was still at the edge of my seat.

I had goosebumps at the point when Felix was looking down at earth, saluted and said "I'm coming home". Makes me appreciate our planet and everything In It.

till now am still watching this vid , it's second to none .. Felix name will be in a history for what he did..
This still brings tears to my eyes. The beauty, the bravery, the fear, and the realization of how small we are.
Look at it from 4.05 they're faking the curvature as it changes.
Now ask yourself why would they be faking that if its all real?
freshprince 84
If you’re telling me the earth is flat I can’t accept you as a sound minded human being. If you’re telling me the jump is fake, you’ll need a lot more then “proof” being visual discrepancies brought on by recording a round object with a fisheye/wide angle lens. Please don’t embarrass yourself and tell me the first is your claim.
@@Sheridantank I wouldn't say the earth is round or flat as i will never know for myself.
You can see they're faking the curvature in this video though can't you?
freshprince 84
Fisheye lens, gravitational lensing, along with us just not having a good mental representation of what things should look like. You can not represent this view with a camera and screen. I suppose in VR you could. I have no reason to believe this is fake as it’s not even officially the record for time if fall and was beaten by height. The earth is undeniably round and this video is very likely not faked in any way.
@@Sheridantank Here is neil degarsse tyson telling you they faked the curvature and hinting they're faking what he really is doing.

I keep this in my list of videos to watch from time-to-time. So stunning and inspiring. That spin must have been terrifying, but his attainment of ataraxia in the moment and his experience as a skydiver certainly helped him to keep his head and not pass out.
same here.. this is on my “watch this when you feel down” list
I never get tired of watching this
All during the free fall, with the exception of that violent spin which had me worried, I couldn't help but smile and laugh with joy at the sight of this. It's so dangerous and yet I get a thrill within me thinking of myself being in space and seeing the stars above and the land beneath even if the point is to jump and fall back to that land. I feel such...joy!
Where is the stars
The light from the sun reflecting from the earth dulls out the light from the stars. Much like how the light from a city does the same thing.

Actually the perceived curvature is the distortion from the wide angle lens. At 19 miles you are relative close to the ground, you can't observe the earth's curvature.
gmanol 19 miles was the height of the jump in 1960, this jump was 24 miles.
