Light movements can be a little "trippy" Last year, when I got this diagnosis, driving at night was a bit odd. The tail lights of cars ahead of me would simply start moving and "fly away" 😂 I have not noticed this happening the last several times I drove at night. Very strange. The eye tests were wavy strictly using my right eye was the reason for the dx. Thanks!

@@warapornpuntuwongsa3625 Purpose of eye injection is to stop the leaks from very tiny blood vessels in the eye. The intent is to preserve existing vision. After the injection, vision is a little sharper. This only lasts a while. AMD will never heal and get better. `injections are continuous and life long if under medical care. injections are every month or so.
I have had 6 relatives with Macular Degeration , 3 committed suicide. I have just been diagnosed with it . I am 58. I am beyond frightened, I KNOW what will probably happen in the next few years. I wish I could say I am going to seek treatment, but I have no money. I just paid for a funeral of my uncle who killed himself last week because he was going blind from MD. I would like to know if there are any places that would give aid for treatment? I could pay back long term,but right now I cannot afford the 2K exam they want to give me before they will tell me any treatment options in my area. It is a death sentence to have MD I fear
Can this come and go by itself? Within a year i had this 3-4 times. I went to see the doctor at the first time it happened, but he didn't gave me any cure. Usually it happens to me when i'm going through a stressful period or tiredness at work, and it disappears by itself with no medicine for about 2 weeks. I have all the symptoms as described from you but even from different sources on internet, and no other symptoms which may be related to sometthing else, not even headache or something like that. It is related to stress? Should i change doctor? It would be great if you could reply. Take care

Prognosis of AMD varies depending on the type of the disease, dry or wet, and the specific retina exam findings. In some cases, mild dry AMD may be stable for a long period of time.

I am 52 years old. recently diagnosed with dry AMD. One eye early stages and the other eye a little more than early. I don’t have any family history with this disease. Living healthy life style😢. My mental health is getting worse everyday thinking of I may loose my vision. I got retina tear got fixed, and that how I knew I have the disease. I got also floaters after the tear happened which make my life more depressing. 😔

Good information. I have wet AMD, with MGDA. Total loss of vision in right eye. Injections for years for maintenance and preservation.

Is macular degeneration and macular hole the same?
I have a macular hole and the eye Drs. are giving me conflicting information. Please Help
They are very different. Macula hole is a disease with a retinal defect in the macula.
Can steroids make Amd worse?
