Foods That Make Hyperthyroidism WORSE

- If you have hyperthyroidism then you're going to want to avoid these foods as they can make your symptoms worse:
The first is any food that contains caffeine either naturally or because it's been added to it. That includes coffee, many teas, energy drinks, and even some medications.
The second would be the most common food allergens like milk, eggs, peanuts, soy, wheat, tree nuts, and shellfish. This is because hyperthyroidism results in more histamine production.
And third, foods that are high in iodine. You don't need to avoid iodine completely but high iodine content foods are not ideal.

Air lol
I dont think its alowed as is green 😂😂😂😅😅😢😢😢@BukanAnakPrivilege
Easy. Meat! Fish, chicken, beef , pork, eggs, venison. Research Carnivore Diet. Or Ketovore Diet. It's great! 😊
There must be a way to heal Hyperthyroidism and then be able to eat these foods again and have a cup of coffee…. DAMN!
Yes there is a way that is removal of thyroid I have been through the surgery I m fine now its been 2 years
@@maryamzaheer9861 Oh wow. Do you have to take Thyroid medicine for the rest of your life?
I actually found out not long after commenting that ALL of my health issues have been linked back to my oral health. From a Dentist standpoint I have great oral health. However I have 3 root canals that I’ve had for 10-15 years. I have no pain, swelling or inflammation in my face. But my old root canals are causing systemic disease and inflammation throughout my body. I am seeing a Biological Dentist now who will be removing my root canals. She’s already removed one, two more to go. She also removed a metal crown I had on a back tooth and discovered there was a Mercury filling under it that I was not aware of!! 🤬 Dr’s and Dentists need to get it together and realize we are WHOLE people and our teeth absolutely affect the health of the rest of the body.
There is a great documentary out called Root Cause. It’s a little over an hour long and It was free on CZcams just a short time ago, but now they made it to where you have to buy or rent it for $3.99. You also have the option to watch it for free if you have a streaming channel like Tubi. Worth watching! This could really save so many lives if more people were aware of all the detrimental effects root canals and wisdom teeth cavitations can cause to ones health! Root canals should seriously be a thing of the past!
Not too many people with a cancer would think to link it back to their oral health. PubMed has some good articles on this subject as well as Dr. Joseph Mercola.
Bladderwrack is very good it helped me
So, according to It's Me again, Jen (Save Your Thyroid) apparently the lower lobes of the thyroid have some control over the upper lobes. I think they called it "up regulation." This was discussed in her recent video abt a brand new technique where a specially targeted embolism is used to kill off part of the thyroid, but not necessarily the whole thing. It was prettu interesting to me.
@@admar6934 What is that?
And Gluten, gluten is a big one to cut out
Wish more doctors did health teaching like this. No doctor has ever discussed with me foods to avoid 🙁
they don’t do that bec they make money out of you
it could be that they were pressed for time. I'm so sorry dear
Half of them have no idea. I have to read my own studies do my own research and then drop breadcrumbs. Like vitamin deficiencies it took months for them to realize it’s common in patients with thyroid disease because I kept having to hint at 💩 🤦🏾♀️ and then finally she searched and found information and tested me for vitamin D. It’s wild
Eat paper
At this point I will
Same 😑
There must be a way to heal and be able to eat these foods again and drink ONE cup of coffee. DAMN! I miss it! 😒😔
@DamnIM😂😂😂😂😂essedUpWeGottaGoBald
Hahahaha! Its basically a refined plant food anyway
Thanks for the info doctor. I have hyperthyroidism and would like to learn more on what to eat and what not to eat.
Can you talk about hyperthyroidism and fertility/pregnancy? Great content thank you!
Dam I didn't know about eggs
Me either. I eat eggs all the time.
Omg stopppp I eat eggs all the time
I’m glad to know most of you here have my same problem I’m still not sure what it is but got diagnosed yesterday
I have Graves with hyperthyroid with hypothyroid symptoms so I'm not losing weight I'm not skinny I have gained weight and methimazole made me gain more weight and I'm barely eating
Excellent information on Grave's Disease. Thank you very much. I've recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. 😢
Same here
Same here😢
What meds do you take? Methimazole here but I'm afraid to take
Very helpful, Thank you!
Please tell what to eat then
Good from now on I will eat air.
😂😂😂me 2
Breathing can actually CAUSE your hyperthyroidism to go in to hyperdrive so you should avoid anything with the oxygen molecule.
How to gain weight?
Might as well never eat again. Air is my only sustenance, now. 😮😭
and i should have said this earlier but what is it about the eggs that mess with hyperthyroidism im curious to know if anybody can tell me because i been eating egg whites for about 4 years now everyday and about 5 times a day and i eat the yolk just 2 times a week but i overload on the whites so i want to know something because i could have been messing my self up all them years dam
I believe it is the yolk in the egg it has iodine but the whites are fine they are just protien.
@@user-vu9hd8xj3f thanks a lot so I'ma just eat the yolk once a week and 2 every other week
Thanks for the advice. But what can I eat then?
Those food groups make up my entire diet lol very sad for myself and everyone else here for the same reason
I have episodes of extreme anxiety, dizziness, sweating and increased heart rate if I eat a meal in the afternoon. It never happens after I eat breakfast or after dinner. Only in the afternoon. Are these symptoms explainable?
I get this too!
I also occasionally have this happen but it’s not always a set time it will happen randomly after eating and I can eat the exact same meal the next day and it doesn’t happen. I’d really like to know what causes it
Did cured it brother?
Me too! Why!?!?!
thank you dr.
Great information, Dr.Childs! Where were you when I had severe Graves Disease years ago? 😢 My doctor told me none of this! I did figure out the caffeine on my own, though. My resting HR was 125, when I first woke up in the morning, before getting out of bed. The arrhythmia was so bad. No morning coffee for me. Graves ruined my life, and put my pregnancy in jeopardy, because that's when I got it. Couldn't take a high enough dose of propylthouracil (or the other drug, which I was allergic to.) Bad for the baby. Hormones. Yikes!
Do you still have graves or did that clear after pregnancy?
@@amcafee4275 I still had Graves after my son was born. I had RAI to destroy the thyroid gland. Took 3 doses at 6 months apart. In hindsight, I wish I had the thyroidectomy, instead. Both kill the thyroid, but getting thyroid lowered took 2 years with RAI. With thyroidectomy, it's lowered instantly. Would have saved me 2 years of hell. My thyroid was extremely hyper, though. Not everyone's is.
I wish to learn about foods I CAN eat. Removed eggs, dairy, gluten, nuts and fish, what’s left? Carrots and potatoes! My dog has a more varied diet than me 😭
Hello. Great video. How much Iodine daily is ok with Hyperthyroidism? I believe your body some amount of iodine
I HAVE PARATHYROID problem
ELEVATED MY CALCIUM UP TO
12.8 🙈 I started having problems,
😢but which food good for us
Brazilian nuts, oatmeal (gluten free ) fresh veggies, chicken, fish, leafty leaves,
I'm eating air at this point
😂
But the interesting thing, when I do an iodine test on my body meaning I swipe it on my skin, and it disappears in an hour. Indicating that my iodine is low. I don’t understand how my iodine is high with hyperthyroid?
Good question,I want to know this situation which is the same with me😢
Not me taking guarana pills and drinking coffee first thing in the morning 🥲
Man I’m vegan an love avocado an cucumber rolls 😭😭😭not seaweed god why
Can you please help explain why iodine supplements are recommended for people with hypothyroidism if we are to not eat foods high in iodine?
But I have to use calming teas like Sleepy tea and I always have eggs for breakfast
Because of the extra histamine production, is it okay to take things for methylation support like Creatine, Vitamin B's, Trimethylglycine, etc..??
My daughter has hypothyroidism and low TSH how do we raise TSH
Low tsh would be hyper.
what will i eat?
Eggs??? soy??🙁
How about decaf tea?
I would like to know too!!!
I’ve totally switched over to decaf everything
Why egg doctor !
I read some research’s mention that egg and salmon are best food for thyroid!?
Maybe that will help me to avoid
That Rug 😂
I am hypo does this mega I can drink coffee & enjoy eggs. .
would bucketweat with rice flour and no other stuff. no fungus to raise it. no sugar.
Isn’t buckwheat high histamine?
What about yogurt?
Oh no! I eat peanuts a lot and I am hyperthyroidism 😮
So why do they say by applying iodine to your wrist and continue doing so until the iodine stain remains for five hours cures this issue? Now you are saying to avoid it! Dr’s say the hyperactive thyroid is due to lack of iodine????
CAN YOU TALK MORE ABOUT HOW VIRUSES, LIKE HERPES AND EPSTEIN BAR, TRIGGER THYROID ISSUES, W/WO AUTOIMMUNE?

Her thyroid embolization treatment interview czcams.com/video/Zrbhod_t-u0/video.htmlsi=pQWwrRQfaqg6iL4h
Thyroid Arterial Embolization (TAE) is the name of the procedure.
I started eating eggs again after years vegan and that’s when my hyperthyroidism started
Eggs also
So basically, don’t eat.
Just get it taken out
But i need my cooffeee 😭😭😭
Decaf
So, in other words, just eat rubber soles.
As a call center agent it's so hard to avoid caffeine. May I ask what's the best alternative?
Decaffeinated coffee?
Ginger and hot water is great alternative, it will help you with inflammation too
@@Jan4Jan4NA💯
I battled stage 4 lymphoma in 21' and think I have Hyperthyroidism now. I came here out of curiosity before my Dr. appointment Tuesday.
But man I gotta say, some of these comments are a little dramatic. Lol
I can’t do this
Not fact based.
Lol hyperthyroidism causes constant fatigue so how is the body over stimulated?
Does anyone do research?
Hyperthyroidism boosts your metabolism like crazy. That's why you lose weight.
Burn out from constant stimulation
You’re basically telling to not eat then lol
I need my coffee
Go decaf
