hey you may already have ideas for the retractable claws, but what if you used your hidden blade rig on the top of your hand and some springs in the plastic pieces that hold the claws so that when you activate the hidden blade mechanism the claws will be shot out by the springs and when you pull the mechanism back in it will push the springs closed. I probably didn't describe it well enough but just some help if you want it.

Look, I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but if you had used the Pepakura software and PRACTICED with the foam, you couldn make a gorgeous foam helmet. Cosplayers all over the world do it. Take some time and do it right. I did love the retractable claws.
