I thought she was pretty smug actually. You did very well and hopefully she follows through. She says she knows everything but obviously not. One suggestion if you don’t mind, before telling people about the processes, say “can I tell you about it “ and get their permission. I got this tip from the vegan psychologist Clare Mann and it does make a difference in their willingness to listen to the difficult information. Cheers and keep up the great work!

I'm not convinced she was "smug".
I'm not sure what the Vegan guy is called but everytime he disqualified an excuse let's say or furnished her with more knowledge, she looked at her 👟 in shame.
Well, I can't be sure she felt shame. Maybe she was stretching her neck or something. I really don't know.
What was interesting is that her son remained interested throughout; he didn't even blink.
Maybe you know, it seems difficult from the framework of a middle-aged human to try something knew. Maybe they feel more happy or "Sappy - see Nirvana" in their world of Cognitive Dissonance.
It's good to try I'm sure.
The younger teenager though might be a different matter. I could see him process all this quite seriously!
Anyway, this Vegan (whatever your name is - sorry) you're doing better than me.
I was an active Huntsab in the UK many years back.
Now, I'm on the other Hemisphere of the Earth trying to get my head around language barriers.
      But, these are just excuses.
I must start videos or something...

I really liked this conversation, excellent questions and responses Cip !
I wish the lady was more compassionate and opened minded, she had an excuse to abuse and kill animals at every turn.
I hope she listens to Gary Yourofsky, possibly the silent young man standing with her will give some thought to the conversation.
I think every person that was not raised vegan has the same regret as you and wishes that they they were vegan much sooner, no one told us ,no one informed us about the horrific suffering animals go through.
Thank you for informing people about the Animal Holocaust, I wish someone had told me .
If you are against violence towards sentient beings you must be vegan !
No one should have to die so I can live !

    • @veganpowerlab

    • @religion-free

      well I was exposed to
      The horrific condition
of a sole goat got brought
      onto mY Gramma's backyard
like a vucking slave to be slaughtered
alive, at 7 or 4 years old I forgot. sO
of course I wish I went Vegan sooner
I don't see how I could have. Despite
The immense regret I have for not
going sooner, I cannot pinpoint any
specific instance in mY past as a
non-Vegan of which I regret, which
means it isn't True regret. perhaps
just a sadness and grief at our past

Trees are not really "communicating" with each other. The term "communication" implies a conscious choice of telling others important information. What happens when trees are communicating with each other, are relatively simple chemical processes. The organs in the human body are constantly “communicating” with each other, even the billions of cells in the body do this, but no one would assume that any organs or cells are conscious.

I'm so pleased I came across this discussion and are looking forward to listening to more of upcoming videos. It's lovely as it helps me stay strong knowing there are people like yourself out their that who are working tiressly and have the right way to speak and approach people. I've proved to be quiet hopeless as I become reactive and anti. But will never change my decision to become vegan. It's changed not only my health, but my whole being and at times you feel alone, while the cars park up in huge rows out side kfc, u wonder if things are going to change and then down the road I see the animal track drive by and I turn my head away and try and block as the animals are on their way to the slaughter house. Then I look at my dog and think of her how she responds when the fireworks go off on guy fawkes, and how she shakes and know that when the cows pigs are rounded of the truck, the noise the chaos, they'll sense the same fear. It's just to much

There are still so many people who believe that we need meat backed by a bunch of anecdotes. I am kind of unsure what we can do in such situations. There is so much nutritional science that has shown that a plant based diet is adequate for everybody. Perhaps the best thing to do in such a situation is just let people watch a documentary like "what the health".

    • @dellisgibbs5823
      @dellisgibbs5823 Před 3 měsíci

I think a lot use the excuse of not getting the right nutrients to justify their habits and taste bud desires. I've never before I became a vegan ever thought meat and dairy was healthy. I think factory farming has intensified on a mass scale since all the franchises have spread the world and meat and dairy industry have monopolised. The human population has become sick so many diseases that weren't as prevalent back70years ago, when it was a treat to go out for dinner. Now eating maccas and pizza kfc etc is a daily habit.

That argument is always icky. I didn’t want to go into a debate whether plants are sentient or not, so I decided to go with “even if they believe that they are, they should still be vegan”.

    • @kenzovich9225
      @kenzovich9225 Před 3 měsíci +2

@@veganpowerlab no i think your response was good. I guess there can be an argument to be made about the "degree of sentience", since we don't necessarily care about an element/aspect of sentience alone, like experiencing brightness vs darkness, a color, or sound as much as we would care about experiencing suffering and happiness.
It's undeniable that at least all the animals who go to the slaughterhouse have a much higher degree of sentience than the plants we harvest, if those should even have anything resembling sentience.

I speak to people like this all the time at outreach, who will use anyway excuse NOT to go vegan, while pretending they care about the animals. Unfortunately they just don't see animals lives, as important as humans. As vegans we care about the animals, so will always make it work. Being vegan is not the first priority? But how is changing what you eat interfering with efforts to stop the war?

I one hundred % get what you're saying and I agree with you, but I'm afraid I live in a warzone and that means I simply do not have the time to stop being a racist right now. There are more important things going off in my life than stopping being a racist. So sorry, maybe when those other things resolve, I'll be able to stop being a racist. Good day.

Abortion is not a women's right.
    It's a violation of human't rights, the baby's rights.

a fetus has no evolutionary reason to become sentient until after it's been born, so from this we can safely conclude unborn fetuses are not sentient, and non-sentient creatures do not have rights

Up until the baby is sentient, it’s the woman’s right, since it’s her body

No, it's not her body and no, the value of a human being is not determined only by when it has sentience, but also by the fact that it WILL have sentience soon and by the fact it has a soul from conception.
It's a violation of its rights, it's not the woman's right.
You can argue that all day, but you will never be able to prove your position logically.
You can only say your opinion about the value of the baby's life.
If you put low value to it, then that is just your personal moral value.

@@alexanderTheVegan Should we value sentience or should we value capability for sentience?
As for soul, show me any logical proof for soul (since you talk about logic).
And, since you're so against the person's right to choose, I suppose you support the idea that the government should be giving money to people that don't have the means to raise a child...

We should value both. The capability of sentience is valuable enough to not kill it.
No, I don't have to prove the existence of the soul. It's just my opinion.
That doesn't debunk my point, which is that it's a violation of the baby's right.
If you don't value its rights or if you think it shouldn't have rights, that is just your personal moral value.
But you can't say that is not a violation of his rights (not law rights, but ethical rights, like the ones that animals should have).
And yes, of course governments should help the mothers to raise her child.
