My absolute favorite thing about this channel is just how unabashedly hyped the Yo Videogames crew gets about games. CZcams, and the internet in general, is just getting so saturated with folks who get a kick out of being overly critical, especially from a technical, quantitative, "Look at me, I'm clearly an expert on game design and implementation, so listen as I exclusively post videos where I talk shit about random games down to the most minute design-based detail for 10 minutes at a time" perspective. To be fair, there's nothing wrong with being critical, but my absolute favorite moments on this channel, that are sometimes in short supply on other channels, are just when everyone gets hype and excited about video games...simply because video games are fucking awesome.
A lot of people that are critical do it because they love videogames, but sometimes you have to be critical in order for things to improve. If you say nothing and get excited for everything and never criticize anything, then games don't improve.
@okagron, I don't think anyone minds constructive criticism.
The issue is that lots of people like to shit on any new game that's coming out, because that gets you clicks; there's not even much criticism behind it very often. It's just bashing a certain game/genre for views.
As a whole, people should just have more fun with video games, because that's what they're here for. And that's what Yovideogames often ends up doing - just having fun.
In a time, where you instantly get thousands of "this is sexist/racist/too hard" review videos with massive spoilers one week before any new games comes out, this channel is rather refreshing.
Couldn't agree more !! Being critical about games has its place but I love getting hype about video games !! And Yovideogames does that the best!! Just some chill dudes and even chiller vibes....ok sometimes not so chill but still vibes nonetheless!!
