You use things like fighting games for example to stave off the feeling of depression instead of sitting there doing nothing, feeling like youre wasting your life away because you don't feel motivated to do anything productive. People have different things they use, like some become workaholics, some throw themselves into art, and alot of people use video games.
I love that just the mere existence of Rock Howard in Smash is enough to be included here

I use to have friends and hang out time like this when I was younger. Seeing Max and the YoVideogames crew gives me a bit of nostalgia and makes me a bit sad because I feel like this could have been me and my friends if "life" and all of its hits didn't happen. These dudes may have their ups and downs but they seem genuinely down for each other and love hanging out with their passion of video games. Keep shining on dudes, appreciate you guys sharing your hangouts, perspectives and small bits of life with us. Gets the community through a lot.

I'm on the same boat, used to have friends and everything, used to have people over so much that I would even get annoyed and not want them around at times.
But life did a really good job at beating some humility into me I guess. Drug use on top of flat out bad choices with maybe a little bit of bad luck will leave you as a lonely disgusting embarassment so to anybody reading this, treasure what you got.
But yeah really, don't be sad, that just makes me sad and reminds me to be sad :(
I feel y'all on this one. I use to chill with close friends on the regular, then life put a wedge between me and them. I still cherish the memories and will never forget any of them. But yeah just know that not everyone has the opportunity to experience friendship in this capacity, so don't be sad and cherish the memories.

This was the first year I followed
Max, Kenny, Steve, Simmons, JaeJae, Benny, and Luna on a regular (if not daily) basis and I have to say I’m so glad I finally did. The excitement and honesty you guys bring to everything you do is infectious and it has really gotten me more excited for upcoming games I wouldn’t have, and even some I would’ve, been interested in. Thanks for an amazing year and looking forward to another one, even though we all know we’re just sitting hear waiting for March and Max to dedicate an obscene amount of time and joy to FF7. Can’t wait.

Been an amazing year and decade seeing you Max. That and the YoVideoGames crew. During the time in the 2010s, finding your channel back in ether 2014 or 2015 made me appreciate not only just fighting games, but also video games as a whole in general. Not only are you someone who has wisdom in fighting games, but also have a golden heart to the people around. I hope this can continue on seeing you all till the last hurrah. Thank you for the memories you've given me Max. Shine on my guy. Let's make 2020 and onward even better.

I'm so happy right now! Every now and then, while I'm cooking dinner for my wife and kids, I'll watch these best of the year videos from yo videogames and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Thanks again for another year of streams, entertainment, fighting games, ALL games and just having a great time.

But for us now 1 MILLION subscribers are all grateful for the positive vibe and amazing things we were able to watch you do and accomplish. It still feels like just yesterday where you were talking about getting stuck in retro FF7, and here we are in 2020 getting ready for Gen 5.
