    I own one of these. Perfect when you go out all day cycling and need something small and portable to boil water. The gas cartridge never even gets warm so it is safe to use. You can buy a fold up windshield to put around it for when outdoors too which is useful. Great useful piece of kit for the money and would recommend.

    Hi isn’t the fire too close to the gas canister? I am interested in this but I am worried about the safety issue related to this. What if you use a pan or a pot on top of the stove and that is hovering above the gas canister. Wont the heat from the pan just above the canister make it a safety issue?

    • @yourtravelpartner6154
      @yourtravelpartner6154  Před 2 lety +8

      I have been using this for 6 months already and so far there’s no problem with it. Just make sure that you’re not using a defective or very old canister. Also check for leaks before using it. Then make sure that it is properly attached before ignition.
      -the fire isn’t too close to the canister it has a space provision
      -using a pan or pot won’t be a problem as I’ve tried it a lot of times already. It has a pan support. If you’re using it outside especially on a windy area, just make sure that the wind direction is opposite the canister’s position.

    • @Gearsub
      @Gearsub Před 2 lety +2

      @@yourtravelpartner6154 thanks for the reply. what I am worried about is the size of the pan and the pot. what if it's wide and comes over the gas canister? Wont the heat from the pan cause the canister to heat up? Looking at the design of this stove I feel only very small pots and pans can be used. There is another version of this camping stove where it comes with a steel pipe and in this you can keep the canister about 30 cms away from the flame which in my opinion is a much safer option. I have ordered this already but I feel the other one is more safer than this.

    • @yourtravelpartner6154
      @yourtravelpartner6154  Před 2 lety +5

      Base on what I’ve seen, if you fully open the flame adjuster, The fire pressure is strong and not the typical fire we imagine, that spreads throughout the whole base of the pan. And this is mainly designed for small pots and pans especially for hiking, you don’t need to bring heavy kitchenware. Maximum weight it can carry is 5kg. If you are uncomfortable to use it, then choose the one with the long pipe.

    • @yourtravelpartner6154
      @yourtravelpartner6154  Před 2 lety +2

      Well I haven’t tried it yet but then in my personal opinion if water meets butane gas it will just put off the flame. If an oil meets the butane gas, it will still need to reach its flashpoint to form an ignitable mixture and cause a fire. Common cooking oil like vegetable and canola oil requires around 200 degree Celsius to start the ignitable mixture which they also call smoking point. If this is the temperature of your oil and it meets the butane gas, there is a possibility of a burst of flame. But if you are asking if the liquid oil just spilled over to the butane gas it will still take some time before it produces a bigger flame depending on the amount of oil and the temperature that it has. For more technical terms, I am assuming right now that what you mean by butane gas is actually a flame from butane gas, because if it’s only butane gas nothing will happen, unless an ignition takes place to complete the triangle of fire. Thank you.

      If the igniter isn’t working, you can always return it to the seller. But if you need to use it badly, even though not really recommended, you can just turn the valve open then find a lighter or light up a match for it to work. Just make sure that the opening of the valve is not fully opened, preferably only half turn or with minimal hissing sound so it won’t create a large flame and maybe burn you.

      @@yourtravelpartner6154 i think what @rose semblante was asking is... Does the butane canister feel hot (maybe dangerously so) considering its near the generated flame of the mini stove?

      Erica .Bay thank you for clarifying. Based on my last comment I said that the cannister itself is cold based on my experience. It doesn’t feel hot at all even though it is exposed near the flame. It feels cold instead and I noticed some water droplets or mist outside the canister.

    this design is like waiting for exploding to happen ,lol , from google ,
    1. Portable butane gas stoves with integrated gas canisters (also known as lunchbox cookers) can pose significant safety risks. These stoves are commonly used for camping and outdoor activities. If the butane gas canister overheats and the shut-off valve fails, the stove is likely to explode and cause injuries
    2 . If used or stored incorrectly gas canisters can build up pressure and explode. The main two reasons for a gas canister explosion are: Use of oversized pot or pan covering the cartridge compartment of gas cooker causing a build up of pressure in the cartridge. Direct and indirect exposure to a heat source

      Well based on my experience, the flame doesn’t even touch the canister. From the time of the video production until now it is still functional. No incidents happened.

      Pwede din nmn. Just control the flame output. I don’t know also kng magkakaroon ng gas na amoy ang smores mo after. 😂 Best pa rin to do it on a campfire. You’re welcome 😊.
