I was lucky as a kid.
My father worked with a guy who was from Japan. He lived here, but he’d go back to Japan to visit family a few times a year.
Every time he went, he came back with a bootleg Godzilla vhs.
I was born in ‘91, and by the time I turned 8, I had every Godzilla movie on vhs.
The only Godzilla drought that I had to experience was the FW-G14 gap.
But even during that time, I still had my vhs tapes to watch over and over and over.
His name is Dave, and we haven’t heard from him since he stopped working with my father.
But I’m forever grateful to that man.
I still have them all, but most of them don’t work anymore.
I hold on to them, though, because they mean so much to me.
Wherever he is, I hope he’s enjoying this Kaiju Renaissance as much as I am.

Gonna be honest, the teen trio really killed the show for me. Enjoyed the story set in the past, the monster stuff, and especially Kurt/Wyatt Russell, but the teen trio just irritated me to no end, and there were a couple episodes where it was just them! Ended up dropping the show around episode 6/7, and just watched the final monster fight on CZcams instead.
Also coming out right after Minus One did this show no favors for its human cast, cause that movie NAILED the human stuff
What a great time to be a Kaiju fan.
This series is definitly not a masterpiece or anything but it was surprisingly enjoyable!
Still haven’t watched this cause it’s on Apple TV
I don’t have Apple TV and I’m not a huge fan of godzilla however I really want to see Kurt russel and his son Wyatt play the same character decades apart
i just watched minus one on netflix, i really enjoy it

Wyatt Russell was the star of the great tv show Lodge 49 that was sadly cancelled after only 2 seasons.
Is there a new season? I can’t get through season 1.
I am on episode 6 right now. I like it! It’s fun.

I liked this show a lot
BUT
Sadly its skipable. GvK and GxK really makes this feel worthless with how little sense those movies make. These characters exist in the same world as underground psychics... That doesn't fit. And I don't blame this show, I blame GvK and GxK

You really really love Godzilla, I have very little interest in Godzilla at all, think I’ve only seen 2 of the movies.
I was rather moved when you explained why Godzilla was so meaningful to you. It's like an anchor to that lost aspect of your personality.
I honestly really enjoyed this show 🤷🏿♂️
Was really let down by this one, Godzilla isn't it much and the characters from present day are so boring.
Dropped this show immediately after the female doctor bit. Nothing original or worthwhile about this show
