Quick guide to the butterfly method with how I do it with my tile markers. All credit to Saxerpillar for coming up with the butterfly method, this video shows some tips and tricks I use that help me do the method without mistakes.

This is just meant to be a tips and tricks quick guide to how I do butterfly to help you all out, could be more thorough with me going in super detail over every little decision but I wanted it to be a quick and easy guide to watch so hope it's good! Check the description for tile markers I use, also includes the lol tiles, very important for when white orbs show up at the end and all you can do is lol at trying to dodge them.

Can somebody help me with this please? I’m learning the movement and attacking pretty well but I run out of energy by the time I get half way into the second quadrant cycle
you need salts
i always tank 1 melee hit to get in cycle and when changing to the next quadrant and trying to get into cycle again, what am i doing wrong?

Great guide!, currently able to do this but I run a duo and my invocations at 200 with no akkha invocations on, i manage to get hit a few times but he ends up swapping attack styles is this because i get hit once or twice? sometimes I never get hit but he still swaps? any help would be appreciated just to confirm

I have a dumb question. So does Akkha just not change attack styles if you do butterfly? Or does he still change attack styles but you only do butterfly when hes vulnerable to mage?
So if you butterfly to prevent akkha from attacking / specialing, he will do a special after 60s of no specials. When Akkha does a special it's treated the same as if he got a chance to hit you, so there's a chance he swaps styles. Though he can never swap on the first hit at the start, as well as the first hit he does after swapping styles, so if you can get to the final phase in under 2 minutes he'd only get 1 special off and wouldn't have a chance to swap.
What do you do if you need to do a dps check? Do you have to just stop bfing
My guy always paths wrong to the attack tile and I get hit. Idk how to fix this

so are the orb and memory inevitable? or is that only if you mess up and he hits you? I want to learn this and just turn on every akkha invocation, but feeling special and double trouble sounds scary if its unavoidable

i feel like im doing everything right for most part..but im running out of energy towards like 2nd quadrant or later. is that normal? or what am i doing wrong..do you need stamina dose? i guess its still good to save some supplies until energy runs out

does he always stay melee phase? the change was just specials every 60 seconds right?
Still has a chance to change I believe, I think it counts as an attack so it's the same as akkha landing a hit on you when you mess up, I could be wrong there but feels like that.
How to use that shift button?

how do you get the blue box under akkha? i have the radius markers plugin but it doesnt look like this

even when i am not getting hit, evertime akkha does a special move he switches his prayers and attack style? is this something they fixed? or what is happening.
Was just about to ask something similar. I think the butterfly method only works for mage dps phases for akkha. There was an update recently that made it so every 1 min akkha will change attack style and prayer (regardless if he attacked or not). Not sure how does works for the stay vigilant invocation.
you need the Stay vigilant invocation on for this to work and to always be able to attack him with mage since that make it so he doesnt switch prayers each special attack. But only switches prayer when he hits you after a few times or if super unlucky after once.

I found sometimes I'd get him in cycle 1 tick too late, and as I circled around him he'd follow me and melee me the whole time, is there an easy way to fix it to put it back into the correct cycle?
He should just get 1 melee on you in that situation maybe 2. If you're just running to the correct tile and attacking on attack tiles it fixes the cycle pretty quick. Were you going to the correct side tile?
@@Molgoatkirby Took another look at video, might have not. I do have some older tiles for butterflying akkha, I'll try updating them and giving it another go and see what happens I guess.

"when shadows spawn, I hold shift to click through the shadow and run to(?) on the tile. This is a menu entry swapper setting under NPC Swaps"

i use trident of the swamp and it works fine for experts

How do you click through the shadow when they appear and are in the way of the tiles you need to move to?
I think shift clicking will make you yellow click through

In the videos most ppl are using a 5 tick mage weapon to do it. So I’m going to assume it could work, just need some adjustments to your tick count when to attack or not.
