I appreciate that Davie actually confronted the scamming on his page. I had this happen to me a couple of months ago on a different channel and when I contacted the person whose channel it was to verify if they actually contacted me or if it was a scam, I received a generic "Thanks for stopping by" response. I haven't watched his channel since, and I really like his channel. I know it is a pain, but the content community needs to get together to put the word out that scammers are preying on commenters. It needs to be community-wide and continuous until everyone knows what is going on. Content creators rely on eyes on their channels, viewers who feel that they are no longer safe on a particular channel will stop watching said channel, and that channel dies.
I’m a Nigerian and there are thousands of people doing this on thousands of CZcams channels. It’s disgraceful and these people give Nigerians a bad name.

u-boob let's all of these scammers and alt-right channels that promote terrorism just do whatever they want, and then come down on good channels like this who try to stops problems and delete their account or give them a strike. Like all mass media, u-boob is run by fash-ish-ts (if I don't censor that word, they hide my comment).
I'm a security analyst and I teach classes on the side to people on how to avoid scams. This video was amazing, you did a great job! The problem is it's not just one person, there are entire operations employing hundreds of people to do these scams. You may have been talking to 5 or more people in that one conversation. It would be awesome if you did a collaboration with Pirogi over at Scammer Payback! Also, I can teach you how to find more info and have more fun with their IP address... LOL

A similiar thing happened to me a few years ago. His alibi was that he was actually some fashion model stranded somewhere.
I used traceroute and a few other tools to find that someone from Lagos was emailing me from a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia USA. When I revealed what I had found, the emails stopped abruptly. @@adamizz-warith1540 I've actually seen several try to raise awareness, but it might just be the channels I'm watching. I think the ones that don't say anything think that if they call attention to the scammers that it'll somehow catch more people. I have no idea though.

Everyone has confronted it, most of the channels I've seen, anyway. Channels like Kitboga REALLY confront it, spending their lives wrapping sub human scammers around the axle, sometimes to the point that it sounds like they are about three insane and strangely non-human sounding screams from a cardiac arrest. It's hilarous.

There's a tool for channel owners to automatically detect and delete spam comments, called YT-Spammer-Purge, LinusTechTips made a video about it called "Fixing what CZcams couldn’t. - ThioJoe Spammer Purge"

SLAP! It's great that he's taken action and addressed this type of scamming. Clearly Susan doesn't care about doing anything because it's not negatively affecting the algorithm. It's on so many channels and although many creators are aware of the issue not many take action, if any action can be taken at all. Thank you, Davie, for devoting the time and owning that scammer. The scammers have been on CZcams for a few years now, I've reported them for other channels and they come back 5 mins later, scammers are everywhere, the only way you can protect yourself is to watch scambaiting channels, you learn alot and it keeps you safe.

Nicely done. I really hope larger channels like yours can band together and push CZcams/Google into addressing this problem. I'm realistic enough to know that we can never stop all of them, but letting them run rampant isn't the solution. There has to be some kind of reporting mechanism for CZcams creators to use to slow these scammers way down.
Well, reporting has existed for a long time. But it's tricky on a free-to-use service where anyone can create thousands of accounts at will. Heck, it's already tricky with paid services - free just makes the scale even worse against actual users (and authors). There have always been systems that try to separate troll accounts from real users... but those are tricky too. It's a hard problem.
these scammers look legit because they use the channel's owner profile picture. If there's a way to make a profile pic 'verified' using google's image recognition feature maybe it can be implemented to minimize these scams. So if a scammer tried to upload a 'verified' profile as his profile picture, YT should recognize it and automatically reject it.
That if YT has any interest at all to address the issue. it seems they only cares about complain from advertisers
They never denied it and i also think that they are aware of it, but what can you do? If it was so easy CZcams would've done something already since no one likes them and it doesn't really benefit someone.

The masses collectively wasting the scammers' time and causing them to lose money until they are forced to get real jobs is the answer. It won't happen, but at least we know it can be solved, I guess.
Then there are those scam ads convincing Americans cans that they are missing out on "free money" from the US government. And then people get their life savings stolen.

I've encountered many other examples of this scam tactic on other videos too as you said, but nobody else made such an elaborate try to do something about it. I always notify those accounts as "spam" but it's so important that the creators such as yourself teach the audience of the risk. Well done, my man.
Notifying is useless. CZcams does Nothing about this. It doesn't affect their bottom line if users get scammed.

I've found this "Talk to me on Telegram" messages on other channels. I always report them and nothing happens.
You doing this for your channel shows that you really care for your followers and that says a lot about you, you rock.
I really hope CZcams learns how to deal with them because these are dangerous for every gullible internet user, and internet is full of people that don't understand how internet works... At this rate this type of scammers will ruin CZcams for everyone.
