When I was a pitcher and accidentally hit the batters from releasing late or just messing up (I was self taught) I'd walk over to the batters or jog and shake their hand apologizing. I know how it feels getting hit by a pitch, and I'd feel awful about it. It's sad to see good sportsmanship being forgotten in the major leagues.
