    Finally, Mazda's fun and interior + Toyota's hybrid = the best of the two bests.

    Mazda borrowed the Hybrid System from Toyota, Hope they dont borrow the cablegate problem from the Rav4 Hybrid as well

      The only part they share is the hybrid system itself.

      Toyota owns about 5% of Mazda

    I'm a little surprised Mazda didn't go for the turbocharged version of the hybrid system that's used in the Highlander.
    Maybe next year.

    All good as long as the 2.5L engine (made by Toyota I assume) has both direct & port injection, since that is a major shortcoming of most automakers (including Mazda) in that they produce the cheaper, carbon-sludge prone 100% direct injection engines instead of a smart mix of both direct & port injection working together.

      According to Toyota media, the 2024 Toyota Venza 2.5-liter has the D-4S injection system, which is both port and direction injection. I expect the Mazda system to be similarly equipped.

      I'd say, more important to reliability is the transaxle. The one used by Toyota (and Ford, incidentally) is VERY reliable and is the best in fuel efficiency.

    Does it come with a spare tire?

  • @kevinn1158
    @kevinn1158 Před měsícem +1

    One the Canadian site it says "This powertrain combination produces 219 horsepower" for the hybrid.

      OK, and I can't think of any reason why U.S. spec would differ. That lands right on top of the Venza powertrain, makes sense to me.

      @@viewsonvehicles It's a nicer looking car than the RAV4 or it's own CX 70/90. The new Mazda design language is too soft.

    If you mentioned it, I must have missed a comment on the presence of a spare tire, as well as a required fuel octain level. Thanks.

      @@Timba1960 I asked Mazda FB & to this post about the spare tire.. no reply. Around, 40%, fight have one.. guessing this will be a part is that 40%

    Seems more like the Hylander hybrid engine based on the eastern market launch, I really hope so, I am 99% there if it is, the 2.5 CX-5 NA is ok, I wouldnt want less power, but 40ish MPG and a bit more power would literally be perfect, even if its below the Turbos power.

    Are these US prices or Canada?

  • @mikehenkes
    @mikehenkes Před měsícem

    What we still do not know is if it's a Toyota 2.5 or the Mazda 2.5. Please give me the Mazda :) Looking at the pricing I think the hybrid will have less power than the Skyactive Turbo places at the top of the price range.

    • @PopsRacer61
      @PopsRacer61 Před měsícem

      ..it will be the Toyota 2.5, the MAZDA 2.5 sas more HP & TQ so I can see why you would want it.

      @viewsonvehicles  Před měsícem

      Mazda didn't say anything about a Hybrid Max version. Maybe in the future.

  • @yournightmare9999

    Not big deal stay with regular 2.5 for reliability future

    • @solderbuff
      @solderbuff Před měsícem

      What? Toyota's hybrid system is super reliable. I know that Mazda's engines are bulletproof, but Toyota is very good too.
